Poll coming!

How often do you wash your sheets off your bed??

Just a random thought I had this morning, and wanted to make a poll about it :thumbsup2

Weekly. I have this real issue with the fitted sheet not being taut and getting bunchy and it seems that it is ok for the first few days, but then it gets bunchy and I am always tugging the corners/sides to make it straight/tight again. (Not sure if I am explaining my "issue" correctly )

All sheets in this house are changed no less than once a week. Most times, more often.

I'm totally grossed out by the people who say they change theirs monthly. :scared1:

I wish i could change all the bedding weekly but as a full time working mom and two kids active in sports there is no time. I clean my house every sat, takes 3-4 hrs. I do laundery several times a week at night. The sheets get changed when i can, bi weekly for our bed but I admit the kids beds go longer. DS has bunk beds and they are a major pain to change.

I do sheets on Friday. I only have one set of sheets so they go right back on the bed straight out of the dryer--no folding giant fitted sheets! :goodvibes

I get it and totally agree!! :thumbsup2

Why, If you shower nightly, how could the sheets be dirty?

I change sheets about every 2 weeks but I had the same thought. I wouldn't be grossed out by someone who changes them monthly. Most people, I imagine take a shower or bath at night or a least wash up for bed and wear clean PJ's?
Maybe some go to bed dirty with a runny nose wiped on the sheet or something?

I voted once a week, but I haven't always done that. When the kids were younger and was much busier with them and my job, I didn't always get to the sheets once a week. I have my priorities and that being that my bathrooms are the number one priority--toilets scrubbed, shower and tubs clean once a week. Then I would always kind of sterilize my kitchen once a week (surfaces). After that, it was laundry, laundry, laundry. Sometimes the sheets went 2 weeks. But, I bathe every night so they aren't ever that dirty--the pillowcase is more of a concern because I don't wash my hair at night.

Anyway, I can see why some people would definitely insist on frequent sheet changes--my dad has always been a heavy sweater when he sleeps so my mom changes them once a week. My son is somewhat of a sweater plus he's very oily.

I wash the sheets around every 8-9 days; the pillowcases get washed twice a week - we have sweaty heads :lmao:

Be grossed out all you want...but my best guess is once a month.

That's the other thing, we shower before gettin' in the bed, cannot even think that folks don't shower before goin' to bed.

I shower first thing in the morning after I climb out of my washed once a month sheets.....I've always hated taking a shower at night. Only time I will do that is if it's summer and I've been outside getting sweaty and gross...but we don't hang outside a lot in the Hot Texas summers...

The poll doesn't ask how often one changes sheets, it ask how often one washes sheets. I have one bed to wash, so normally, the pile has to add up before I wash ALL my sheets.

However, I have a cat who sleeps with me, and she has extra towels put down where she sleeps for fur that comes off & pet smells. So I do end up with quite a pile when I wash.

As for the changing question. I change sheets once every 2 weeks. Cat towels get changed more often as necessary.

Good thing it wasn't a test question! We got 2 cats that sleep with us 'n they claim any spot they want, drives me nuts. :rotfl:
