We are going to be staying at the Saratoga Springs in a Studio. We probably will take advantage of the washing facitilties available at various locations. I was wondering where I would be able to get washing powder from as I don't fancy taking from here.

There's a vending machine inside the laundry room, can buy powder, tumble dryer sheets etc. I can't remember how much, think it was in the region of $1-1.50. It is a coin machine too I think, so you'll need quarters.

Washing machines and driers themselves are free (even though there is a coin section as normal, you just push the tray in empty and it'll fire up).

In the villa's there are washing machines with powder in the rooms, which they re-stock, not sure if its the same in the studio's?

They dont have them in the studios, which is a pity, as if you book as a normal holiday you get the small boxes of washing powder given out from housekeeping.

You could always ask housekeeping if you can have some when you arrive - just call them on the room phone.

If you have a car you can buy washing powder from the Walgreens Pharmacy near crossroads or make a trip to the nearby Walmart.

I took Fairy non bio tablets with me last time(we had a 1 bed villa @ SSR) as DD and DH both have sensitive skin. I just crushed them inside the packet and them emptied them into the machine. Just an idea if you don't want to take a box of powder. The tablets are easy to pack and are not heavy.

Hope this helps.

Rachel :)

]Buy at a supermarket outside Disney if you can - it's a lot more economical particularly if you're planning on doing a lot of washes. I take a small box of 16 Ariel tablets with me (from Wilkinson) they seem to clean the clothes better than US powders.

But you would have to tip Housekeeping when they brought it up to a studio anyhow (assuming they even did) so not like there'd be any savings.

Tablets sound like a good idea as I have sensitive skin.....We are only planning on doing a couple of washes.....
