I think I read somewhere that the washers in the laundryroom at BWV are rigged so as they do not have to have coins in order to operate...is this true?? Before things get out of hand, let me just state that I am not looking to "steal" a free ride in the washers, I just want to know if I should bring quarters with me.;)

no you won't need quarter to work the washer or dryer in the laundry room - now don't get upset (like some guests did) - the machine will take quarters if you feed it to them (OKW did) - but you don't have to.

He saw the machine and went back to his room to get money - so while I was loading I showed him that the machine did not require any money - there are 2 washing machines at OKW in each laundry room - VWL has 2 washing machines - don't know about the others. there are 4 dryer - you can separate your clothes for the dryer so they don't take as long.

There are two regular size washers and one commercial washer and six dryers in the BWV laundry room. As noted, all are free. Bring your own laundry soap and dryer sheets (if you use them). A single load package of Tide powder, two sheet package of Bounce softener, and single load package of some kind of bleach are all $1. The vending machine only takes quarters. I always pack laundry tablets and dryer sheets in a zip lock bag to avoid the high cost (which is even higher if you get these supplies at the Screen Door General Store).
