Was Universal in danger of closing before WWOHP?

I saw my aunt and uncle yesterday and thier daughter (my cousin) is a manager in one of the parks. We didn't get into a huge conversation about it but I started talking to them about Universal and how we went there during the summer. I told my uncle how cool the WWOHP is and that it was the main reason we went to Universal this year. He told me Universal was in bad shape before and that WWOHP pretty much brought them back to life.

Thank goodness for Harry Potter!

There were some financial concerns but I really don't believe NBC or Blackstone would allow Universal to close the parks. WWoHP has really helped the resort and with talks of expansions to WWoHP in the near future, it's only going to get better.

Too true, I really hope they do decide to expand, its tome for The Lost Continent to go 'bye bye.' :D

I think it's time they do some more talking about Middle Earth. I just watched Fellowship of the Ring again and boy would that make an awesome land and attractions.
