Was this the Pirates of the Carribean?

In "93" when me and dh were there we went on a ride where we entered on an upper level.
The ride was on the lower level and there was a food court in the same building near the ride. Was this the Pirates of the Carribean? What would the food places be (names or are they just fast food, no name places)? I think this was close to the Hall of Presidents. I'm trying to get a clue on the vast attractions. Looks like in 93 I was one of those folks that didn't know there were rides in the buildings just walked around going wow

Some of it sounds like PoC. You travel down to a lower level to get on the ride and get on a moving sidewalk to go back up to the "Street" level. There is a food place across the walkway from Pirates but not in the same building that I recall.

You walk down what looks like an old Spanish fort to board the boats for the ride. Is that what you are talking about?

It is no where near that Hall of the Presidents, however! That would be the Haunted Mansion.

What you are describing sounds like the Land Pavilion at Epcot. You enter the pavilion on the upper level, downstairs there are 5 or 6 "food court" style counter service restaurants and a boat ride called "Living with the Land". This ride takes you through the hydroponic gardens and focuses on the future of agriculture in our society.

The Pirates of the Caribbean ride is located in the Magic Kingdom Park. It is also a boat ride, but it features animatronic pirates and a battle at sea.

Sounds to me like It's a Small World and the Pinocchio Village Haus eatery.

My first thought was The Land, also.

No food at Pirates, and the upper/lower entrance thing at Pirates is pretty subtle until you get the boarding area.

Pretty distinct differences between the two, though. Not to be sarcastic, but do you remember any pirates? It's very dark on POC, that may help you recall.

My bet is either the Land or It's a Small World. On both of those you can tell much more readily that you are going downstairs. Pinnochio's Village Haus doesn't seem so counter servicey though and it isn't really connected. Did you go on the ride or only figure out later that there was one there?

Was this DisneyWorld or Disneyland? It sounds like PoC at Disneyland. It has a restraurant there (in Disneyland) called the Blue Bayou. You can see it while you are on the PoC ride.

This was in WDW. We did spend time in The Land so it could have been here. When in the line que, you could turn around and see fast food like counter service with alot of tables. The only thing I remember about the Land ride was the light and the Sunflowers. I was thinking it was the POC. It was kinda dark. And yep, I think I saw pirates just not sure. It was 93, hot, and I was pregnant with a very unsympathetic dh (story for shocking posts threads). One other small thing is when we entered in the upper part, I remember maybe red walls. Sorry to be so vague. I'm desparately trying to get some bearings before we get there. That first time I was so overwelmed by the whole world (and dealing with dh).

It also sounds a little bit like the El Rio del Tiempo ride in the Mexican paviliion at EPCOT World Showcase. There are no food concession stands but there is a restaurant with tables and the shopping plaza area on the upper level.

It does sound to me more like the Land then anything else. The thing to remember is that WDW is so large and the experience so different that unless you have been a couple of times (at least) it is easy to get confused.

The one point I can think of is that you might not have actually seen "Pirates of the C" because it contains literally hundreds of animatronic Pirates and it would be impossible to be unsure as to the idea that you saw some or not. It is one of the rides that leaves the most lasting impression on most visitors. I don't think there would be a question in your mind if you actually went to it. It is hard to forget.

I guess I wouldn't try to get to concerned about your bearings on this trip. Get the Unofficial guide and order some trip planning tapes from the Disney.com site. Just make like you have never been before, everything is worth seeing again anyway.

the place with all of the food that I keep wanting to tie in with the Pirates was the land's Farmers' Market. Does the ride start down there? I think I remember it cause of all the people, noise, etc...Lot's of stressed out looking souls (It was the last week in Aug. and hot). We did see the Pirates. I just looked and it's in Adventure Land Ok, I think I'm straight now!

This was kind of a neat thread. What started out as simple question showed us how different we all see same things. I've enjoyed it -- especially now that momofoneplustwins has her bearings!
