I am sitting here on the puter, but I have Fox News on to hear the updates on the Scott Peterson case. They ran one of those updates and they were talking about an accident. I believe it was at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, but I wasn't really paying attention. I could have sworn I heard tonight, but they did talk about a prior accident too. I looked on the web and saw no sites speaking of this yet. Did anyone catch what was said, or possibly that I totally didn't understand what they were talking about?

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Disneyland's Big Thunder Mountain Railroad ride was shut down on Thursday evening after two cars bumped into each other and left an 11-year-old boy with neck pain, a Los Angeles television station reported.
NBC affiliate Channel 4 reported that the boy was treated on the scene for his injury. The ride was closed at about 5:30 p.m. local time, the station reported.

The same ride was the site of a fatal accident last September when one car crashed into a another that had derailed, killing 22-year-old passenger Marcelo Torres.

California state inspectors allowed the ride to reopen in March after mandating safety improvements.

A spokesman for Anaheim, California-based Disneyland, one of the flagship resorts owned by the Walt Disney Co, could not be immediately reached for comment

:confused3 I checked our local news station website, and didn't see anything...

eek--- twice in less than a year. At least this one isn't as severe and tragic as last fall. Still though.....

hmmmm...not a techie, so I cannot fix it...it is on the rumors board, though. sorry

Thanks for posting what Reuters had to say. How awful! I'm glad no one was killed and I really hope the lil guy is okay.

thats horrible....talk about bad publicity Disney didnt need....Personally, I think they opened it back up too quickly...I wish Eisner and the suits at Disney Co. would get with the program and put more emphasis on safety and show as opposed to how much money can i make today....cutting corners is going to kill the Disney Co.

Jungle Josh :(

ok - one thing about BTM at DW that I don't like is when you are coming back into the station you jerk alot...I wouldn't say my neck HURT after it...but if someone was already nursing a sore neck...that would bound to aggrivate it...

plus I've banged my knees HOW many times on that ride?

still love it though...only rollercoaster I go on

This sounds like it has to be operator error.......How else could two trains be that close to each other?
