were hoping on a cruise in 2022--I thought there was one that had a stop in germany along with russia and some other ports those are the 2 wed be most interested in

am I remembering this right--if so does anyone have any of you have taken the cruise could you let me know the details

tours ports and anything else that would be helpful--

thanks

The Baltics cruise Eastern European Capitals was my very favorite cruise out of 30+. It was very port intensive
and left out of Copenhagen. We even spent two nights in port in St. Petersburg, Russia....

I don't know that any of the cruises go to Germany. I was on a long Baltic (11 days?) that went to the Scandinavian countries + Russia and Estonia. It was great.

Yes, there may have been plans to stop in Germany in 2020 on the repositioning Baltic cruise.

The last Baltic cruise that Magic completed with a stop in Germany was the sailing on July 29, 2018. The stop was Warnemunde, and you could visit either Berlin or Hamburg for a day tour. About 2.5-hour drive one way - a bit less for Hamburg.

If you can spare the time, tour Germany for a few days before or after the cruise - there is so much to see.

We were on the Disney Baltics/Northern Capitals Cruise in July 2010 that stopped in Warnemunde, German and St. Petersburg, Russia. While in Warnemunde, we took the train into Berlin for the day. The ship overnighted in St. Petersburg, giving us two days of excursions. When we did the same cruise in July 2015, the itinerary switched Warnemunde to Estonia, but still stopped in St. Petersburg for 2 days.

We did this as an 11 night cruise on Princess. Best cruise I have ever done, as far as the ports go. You do dock in Warnemunde in Germany. We wanted to see Berlin, and did a private group tour. It was a good 3 hours each way by bus. Most of the tour was driving by places, but we did have several stops where we got out. I'm glad we did a tour, as it would have been too difficult to do all that we did o our own. Berlin is a city, with lots of traffic, and you have to travel all over to hit up the highlights. St. Petersburg was the best port I have even done! We had two days there, and we used the same tour company that we did for Berlin. We're usually do it yourselfers, but these are two places that I would definitely use a tour.

We did the Ultimate Scandinavia/Russia cruise on RC. 13 nights with only 1 sea day. Exhausting but BEST cruise EVER. THREE full days in St. Petersburg - the absolute highlight. We stopped in Warnemunde, Germany and went to Rostock and Schwerin - loved the day!

We did the DCL Baltic Capitals 5 years ago and it did not stop in Germany. Cruise started in Dover, then Stockholm, Copenhagen, Helsinki, 2 nights in St. Petersburg, Tallinn (Estonia) and back to Dover. It was port-intensive, but a great trip with lots to do and see. Not sure what DCL will do in the future with its cruises (will it ever go to Hawaii again?) since things have changed so much.
I was stationed in Germany for 2 1/2 years with the Army many years ago. It is well worth spending time seeing it from Berlin to Frankfurt to Neuschwanstein Castle. Don't pass up the Romantic Highway (if you are driving) or the Rhine River (castles galore). Rothenburg ob der Tauber is an awesome small, walled, photogenic town that you can't miss. Check Rick Steves videos on YouTube or his books in the library for lots more tips and out-of-the-way hidden gems.

We did the Baltic cruise in 2015. It was 12 nights and one of the stops was Warnemaunde for Berlin and we spent 2 days and 1 overnight stop in St. Petersburg. It was a fantastic itinerary. We also did Helsinki, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Tallinn. They mix up the ports each year on the Baltic cruises so I'm not sure what future plans are but they certainly have done Germany and Russia together in the past

Our 2 Baltic cruises (both on Royal Caribbean) are among my favorites. My daughter and I did the 11-night Ultimate Scandinavia and Russia cruise on Legend of the Seas in 2014. I had already visited Berlin, so I booked a Friends of Dave Tour to Schwerin from Warnemunde (https://www.fodtours.com/). We toured with Alla Tours (https://alla-tour.com/) for our 3 days in St. Petersburg. Days 1 and 3 were in St. Petersburg, and we took the train to/from Moscow on Day 2. I don't see an option for Moscow on Alla Tours' web site, but you could probably arrange that privately.

RCI offers one 11-night Ultimate Scandinavia & Russia cruise in July 2021 that spends 3 days in St. Petersburg: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/crui...sail-date=2021-07-25&currency=USD&country=USA

I'm booking flights into and out of Frankfurt for our Baltic cruise with the back up plan of doing a land trip should the cruise cancel. Of course that's assuming borders are open.

Four regions of Germany that you can visit as a Disney family if flying into Frankfurt:

1. Drive south to visit the lovely Black Forest and EuropaPark on a 2-day trip. EuropaPark - the largest theme park in Germany - gets better reviews than the DLP.

2. Drive southeast (or take a train or an organized tour) to travel the Romantic Road all the way to the Neuschwanstein Castle - the inspiration behind the one at Magic Kingdom. Spend a day touring Munich afterwards for a total of 3 days for this trip.

3. Drive northeast (or take a train) to tour Berlin and then spend a day at the Tropical Islands water park south of Berlin. With travel, this trip will take you 3 days in all.

4. Drive north to visit Hamburg and then spare a day to tour the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg. You should be able to see Wish under construction next summer on the shipyard tour. Plan 3 days for this trip.

You can, of course, do all of them on a circle tour if the cruise falls through. Even add side trips to Switzerland etc. - there is always more to see in Europe in the summer than what you can spare time for!

How long are the train rides between all those cities.

Has anyone done this on a cruise that’s not Disney specifically NCL.
