Did the Interval II exchange rules change? My understanding is that we used have two options when booking an Interval Exchange:
1. Deposit First - deposit your points with II and you'd have 2 years to search and find a match. If you did not find a match w/in those 2 years, you forfit your points
2. Points exchanged when match is found. Put in a search and when a match was found, the points would be deducted from your DVC account. If a match was not found you would not have points deducted and would be refunded the $95 fee.
I was on the phone with Member Services on Friday (and later saw the new rules on the DVC website) and it looks like you now only have the Deposit First option. They also mentioned if you do find a match and have to cancel, you forfit your points no matter how far inadvance you cancel. (you could search for a new match, but you'd have to pay the $95 again) I believe this is a change as well.
Can anyone confirm?
Did they change these rules when they introduced the new short stay bookings?
