Was there a boat that went from the Contemporary to MK?

Perhaps someone could clear this up for me. I thought at one time there was a boat that went from the Contemporary to MK. I looked for it last March and it is not there. My family now think's I have lost my mind (they gave me such a hard time over this). I am hoping someone can clear this up for me. If there was one, what happened and why is it no longer running?

I believe way back, before the walkway to MK, they did occasionally run boats during high volume times and if there were monorail issues. They didn't run buses up to the MK back then either (only to TTC), so there weren't as many transportation choices. I can remember getting on boats at CR and having to show my resort ID to use them, but the memory gets a little fuzzy after that.

Thank you for your reply. I did a google search today and found some information on a boat. A few of the sites mentioned a boat launch from the Contermporary to MK. I thought I saw it mentioned on some boards a year or so ago. I was so positive that there was one, I rushed my family to the dock's looking for it. There looks like there is a spot for it, but nothing runs. I think there was a red and blue line. I am still hoping to get a few more answers, I need to be armed with proof to prove that I was right.

If you really want to take the boat from the CR to the MK take the boat to the WL first then switch to the MK boat there.

Years ago there was a boat from CR to Poly too, but that was before the GF, maybe after too I don't know.

I don't really want to take it, I just want to know if there used to be one. The walk is fine. It is just bugging me, I know I read about it somewhere, and I can't find any information on it. I thought I remembered seeing a boat launch for it too. Thank you for your help though.

I remember reading about it, too. I recall seeing a boat with lots of people disembarking there that I thought were coming from MK. I'm sure of it. But, I didn't ride it.

Many moons ago (1989-1990) I worked at the Contemporary and remember there being a boat that went to the MK. It may have actually done a FW, CR, MK loop. So you are remembering correctly - if my memory serves me correctly. Ohhhh the good old days.

Yes there was a boat that went from the MK to the Contemporary and then on to WL and the campgrounds. Wasn't too long ago either... maybe 2004? I had a contemporary stay in 2002 and I know we used it then.

do you remember where it landed at the MK?

there was around boat at one time that went from the MK to CR to Polyn then back to the MK - back in the 70's.

Before the GF opened in 1988, there was a boat launch between the Polynesian, Discovery Island, and Ft. Wilderness, so it's possible.
