Was RSR operating during your EE?

For anyone who has been to DCA during EE the last week or two (whether APEE or Hotel Guest EE), would you let me know which day you were there and whether RSR was up and running during EE? I'm hoping to ride RSR and get a FP for later that day - but I'm nervous about getting in RSR line and being stuck there and then getting behind the 8am rush to the FP machine. Trying to get a sense if RSR is working better in the morning - or just random :confused3

Thanks!

We were there on Thursday, June 28th for APEE and RSR was NOT operating during EE. It opened up just before 8:30 am. We chose to wait in line (of course not realizing that it would take an hour and a half to get the RSR running). By the time we waited, rode, and tried to get in the FP line, it was too late for us to get FP's for that day.

We had our DL APEE the next day, on Friday, June 29th, and the Matterhorn also did not open on time. Which led to my family making jokes about the description of early entry. "Allows guests to experience the park one hour before regular park opening." Technically, we did get to experience the park before regular park opening, which is before the rides are operating! :rotfl2:

Hope you have better luck!

Thanks for the reply - my sister just moved to Vancouver, WA and I was there on the July - could not believe the fireworks in her neighborhood!

Lol on Vancouver fireworks. We had the same reaction when we first moved here. So much for the "safe and sane" stuff we were used to when we lived in ID--unsafe and insane seems to be the standard up here!

We did our APEE on Thursday July 5 and RSR was up and running. We got in line around 7:20 am(right under the stop light in the middle of CL). We were off the ride by 7:50ish am or so.

Got my 2 daughters a baby swap but they ended up doing single rider. One entered the line right after 8 am and the other about 10 minutes later. Both were off the ride with in 15 minutes or so.

My daughters waited in line for FP while my sons and I rode RSR. The were 2nd in line at 7:25 am. FP were distributed at 8 am ... our return time was 8:40 am.

We went back and used our FP tickets just before 8 pm. Because of the baby we had to split up the group. FP line said 35 minutes but honestly I think it was 35 minutes total for both of our groups to go through.

On a side note Matterhorn on June 29 was not up and running until 7:30 or so. Three of my kids rode and got a baby swap for my son and I. We went back and ended up walking on because the line was so short.

Hope this helps. :)

Read on twitter that RSR was down first thing this morning, due to open mid-morning.

On a side note, my in-laws live in Vancouver. It's like a warzone on 4th of July.

Thanks for the feedback!

That is exactly what we thought - this must be what it feels like to live in a warzone - insane!

We did APEE on July 3rd and RSR was up and running. We were able to child swap with 2 groups, and everyone was finished riding by 7:45.

Others in our group did EMH on Wed July 4th, and RSR was running at open.

Then we did EMH on Friday July 6th and RSR was down, started running at 7:30 or so, went down again at 7:40 until about 7:55, finally got on the ride at 8:10. And so we basically wasted our entire EMH AND the time we spent lined up before park opening (about 20 more minutes) for RSR. I love the ride, but I may be done with it until the lines/FP gets more reasonable.

We did EMH for DL on Thursday July 5th, and Matterhorn was down and didn't open until sometime after 8:30. I ended up doing both sides as a single rider on Friday afternoon. Single rider line for Matterhorn is new since the refurb.

In our limited experience, APEE seems less crowded than EMH. I belive there were a decent number of APers who just showed up close to the end of the APEE and hopped in the RSR fastpass line. The park seemed very open.

Are you able to tell if RSR is actually running before you get back there? Will the CMs know at the gates if I ask? And is there an easy way out of line? If we do get in line at 7:20 and it breaks down, can I (or DH) easily escape to get in the FP line while the other waits with the kids?

And it sounds like Matterhorn is almost as inconsistent as RSR during EE? I thought I would do that first, but we may hit PP and Alice first and hope Matterhorn is running before 8?

We were at the EMH for DCA this morning. Before the gates opened, manager-types announced that RSR was down and not expected to open until around 11 am. They did say that the entire park was open for that early hour. We didn't check that because we went straight to Luigi's (first cycle) then to Mater's for two rides.

Ds19 got into the RSR fastpass line around 7:30. There were so many people in the line already that he didn't get the FPs until around 8:15 for 1:10pm.

Yesterday 7/10 Matterhorn was running right away----or at least after we rode another FL ride first after entering the park at early opening.

RSR was running for EE Saturday. It broke down for about 10 minutes during that time.

We were there that day as well, but not for EMH. We arrived at 7:30. There were signs up and managers telling people that Racers was down until 11. Before rope drop, there were several EMH people getting in the f/p line which made the f/p line longer than when I stood in it on Monday. DH was in the fastpass line from 7:30 until about 8:30-8:45. The f/p return time was something like 5:25, but we could obtain another f/p at 10:25 a.m. We didn't use our f/p until around 8:30-9 p.m. and it went down once we cleared the 2nd f/p check point (the one where they take your tickets). It was down like 20 minutes and then back up. I felt so bad for the people standing in the other lines! What a bummer to wait soooo long and then have it break down. Luckily, it came back up, but what if you waited all that time for it and it never started again? UGH.

I stood in line for the f/p on Mon. 9-9. I was in line by 7:20 and had a f/p by 8:15. As far as I know, the ride was operating during early entry.

We were there for the AP EE on July 8. RSR was open, but it took almost the whole hour to ride it by the time the CM's led up back to the ride and being in line.
