Hi All,

We will be staying at DL PP hotel and originally booked a standard room.
Well, I just "upgraded" to a View room for an additionl $164.00
Is it worth it? Or should we changed back to standard and go with the flow and hope to get upgraded?

It depends on how much you were originally paying and how much a view is worth it to you. I personally don't like paying alot of money to stay at a nice hotel and then having a view of the parkingl ot or city. I will almost always pay to upgrade to a nicer view. The theme park views at PP are pretty darned good too. :) But if you are going to be in the parks or out and about most of the time and not in the room you could save yourself some money by switching back. If it isn't a financial burden though I would stick with the nice view.

How many days does that $164 cover? The more days you are staying the more worth an extra $164 is. For a short trip, and / or one that you won't be in the room much the less worth it is. For a long trip an one that you may be in the room more it may be worth it.

For me the cheaper the better. I am just as happy at a days inn as I am the grand floridian.

We just spent six nights at PPH. I had paid for a standard but was lucky enough to be given an upgrade to a view room without asking. Since we were there almost a week we spent a good bit of down time in the room so I think it would have been worth paying for, especially at night. We even got to experience the DEP from both DCA and our room (the audio comes through the TV). It looks great at night from that distance and height (13th floor). Don't know when we will go back, but will pay for the view next time instead of leaving it to chance (my luck isn't that good normally ;) ). If you look out the back of the hotel all you can see is the DLH at about the two o'clock position, and a parking lot and local neighborhood straight ahead. I don't think you will regret paying for the upgrade.

For me this would not be worth it but everyone has there own idea of what they want in a room. For me, a clean confrontable bed and a nice hot shower is all that I care about.

When I went to WDW and Stayed for 10 days in an All Stars room that only over looked a parking lot, I now know it would have been worth the $5.00 a day upgrade to have something of interest to look at!! And I'm a cheapskate but with no in room themeing and no view it really lacked a lot.

A friend of mine stayed there in December and she fell in love with the view. They were just outside the Orange Stinger and her kids LOVED looking out the window while she got ready in the morning. It was the first thing her 3year old did each morning. Pulled a chair to the window and stood there with his blankie looking at the sights. I'm sure it's now a priceless memory.

I really depends on if you can afford the upgrade charge (don't let it be a downer on the trip) and what time you are going if there might be the option of a free upgrade. If it's during spring break/summer, I wouldn't risk the view (ie I would pay for it) If you are going the second week in January (slow season) you would probably get a free upgrade. It's always a gamble...I would love to be able to check it out myself, but since we go so often (3 trips in 6months) my trips are always budget motels so we can spend 4-5 days in the parks.

Have a wonderful trip.

Sonya,

We are going May 31 - June 4.

I think I will keep my Upgrade.
But................
They said my "upgrade park view" was to be on floors 3-6.
Is that an OK view? And is that REALLY Upgrading???

Also, what can we expect for crowds?

Advice from anyone.....Please!!
Thanks

Hi, it is considered an upgrade from a standard view. I have stayed at PP in a theme park view, floors 3-6. Just call and ask to have your reservation reflect a preference from an upper floor. I did that was was in room 642 (I think). Had a great view of PP.

Not knowing what you are paying per night, I can't tell you if it is worth it. I paid about $109/night for the same view you have.

Enjoy your trip!
Diane

We often upgrade. At the Grand Californian we have had DD and DCA views. AT AKL in WDW the savannah view is a must! We have been happy with our upgrades, although we do it with discount codes. When we stay at DVC it is usually with a requested view or location. I doubt we would upgrade at rack rates.
