Was it a good or bad idea to email recruiting?

Ok so I decided last night that I would email the recruiting office to let them know that since my interview I have become interested in adding the Custodial position to my role checklist because I am interested in becoming a Hopper (add that one to checklist aswell). I wrote the email politely and I'm just wondering if this was a good or a bad idea. Something tells me I should have just waited it out and not bothered with emailing the recruiting office. And they havn't responded yet so now I'm nervous.

Sending that email was a neutral move and adding additional roles may end up helping you. Don't sweat it... they get dozens of emails a day and it won't reflect badly upon you that you sent one.

On a completely unrelated note, I find that I am more likely to write emotionally-charged emails at night than in the morning or during the day, so I've started saving messages I write at night until the next morning so I can read them over again before I send them. Anyone else have this happen to them?

haah ya i understand with the message thing. I sent mine at like 1:43 am! I think I should have waited until the morning. They probably think I'm crazy. Here, you can read the email so that you have a better idea of what I wrote.

I'll delete my name... not that it matters but whatever :)

URGENT! Adding Roles to my Application.

To Whom it may concern,

My name is -- and I had my interview on Friday 10/24 at 11:15 am (I believe my interviewer was Nancy). I am sorry for the late notice, but I was wondering if it was still at all possible to add a few roles that I am interested in onto my application. After much thought and excitement, I have researched a few more roles and have become interested in some of the roles I had not already had filled on my role checklist. If it is not too late, I would like to add the Custodial Role to my checklist of roles that I am interested in. This would also mean I would be interested in being a Hopper as the other required roles were already picked on my role checklist. Once again, I am sorry for the late notice and I look forward to hearing back from you. If there is any more information you need from me to look up my application, please let me know.

Thanks and have a magical day!

Lol i should have reread this in the morning before sending it.

No, that's a great message...you have nothing to be worried about! Good luck!

I also sent emotionally charged emails at night! I sent an email to my recruiter at like 2 in the morning before I had gotten my letter, and I read it the next morning and realized it probably could have been taken that I wrote it with an attitude towards her, when I had no problem at all with anything. I should start saving emails for the middle of the day...

But anyway, I think your email was totally fine, and I don't see why they wouldn't add those roles to your checklist. If you don't get a response, try contacting your recruiter, since you didn't get an email from her yet, you can call the office and they can let you know who it is. I emailed the general email address about something and they never contacted me back, and my recruiter got in touch with me much quicker when I just talked to her directly. Good luck!

I wrote about 10 emails to recuirting before so dont worry about it. They were so sick of hearing from me im sure but they were always very nice about the whole thing and replied in a timely and friendly manner. Adding roles is not difficult at all and not a big deal. I decided at the last minute to add character attendent and recreation to my application and just emailed them. They appericated me being flexible with new roles and thanked me for the email. So they would rather you be flexible and offer more roles because then you have a greater chance of being accepted into the program since they have more options in which to place you. Dont sweat it.

Yeah! I know exactly what you are talking about. It really does help to rest and then go back with a more clear mind.
As to the original poster, I don't think there was anything wrong with you sending the email. That is what it is for you know? Everything will turn out fine.

Wow! this is the exact way I feel! Sometimes I'll write an email at night, and in the morning I'll be like... "wait.... why would I do that??"

I emailed recruiting the day after my phone interview because my interviewer didn't mention anything about faxing/mailing my role checklist and application. I had read that both forms needed to be faxed and mailed and that the interviewer would provide the address but she didn't so I emailed recruiting and they provided all the info. They were really nice!
