O.k., Fess up. Who watched it? I had to check it out because a friend was going to watch and I got sucked in. It was hilarious! My DH and I were rolling with laughter. The fiance, (what was his name...Steve???) is a hoot. The hot tub scene was hysterical....and the massage, too. He is pulling this off really well. What I missed was the first 10 minutes. Is he getting extra money if she backs out of this??? I hope someone else watched so I can have an answer to my question!

I wanted to watch it looked so funny, but Law and Order was on. Whats a gal to do?:crazy2:

They didn't say that he would get the money. However I bet that if she doesn't get her family to attend the wedding he gets whatever money she doesn't....just my guess.

Would you be able to tell that he was acting if you were in her shoes?

I thought it was hysterical. I thought the girl (I forget her name) was pretty nice to Steve, considering how he was acting.

Scottsdale teacher is in hot water over reality show

SCOTTSDALE - Starting tonight, Randi Coy of Scottsdale will be known nationwide, not as a yoga instructor or first-grade teacher at a Catholic school, but as the 23-year-old woman with a Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance.

Coy is the unwitting "star" of the Fox series that debuts at 8 tonight on Channel 10.

Last summer, between graduating from Arizona State University and beginning life as first-grade teacher at Pope John XXIII Catholic School Community in northeast Phoenix, Coy attended an open casting call at Drift restaurant in downtown Scottsdale.

She wound up in My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance, produced by Rocket Science Laboratories (Joe Millionaire, Temptation Island) and hosted by former Channel 3 reporter Claudia DiFolco.

Even before its premiere, the show has gotten Coy in hot water with her Catholic school superiors. Coy interrupted her first year of teaching at Thanksgiving break to begin taping the show.

She remains on leave.

"She hasn't actually said anything about the show," said Coy's boss, Principal Bill Langley.

"All I was told when she left was that she was auditioning for a reality show."

The show's producers led Coy to believe she was one of several contestants for a million-dollar prize. Producers picked Coy and a man named "Steve" as finalists.

For Coy to win, she needed to convince her family that she met, fell in love with and planned to marry "Steve" without revealing that their pairing is a farce.

She thought "Steve" was competing for the same prize.

Except the true farce was played on Coy. "Steve," his friends and family were actors, paid to sabotage the staged wedding.

Langley understands if some parents have concerns.

He sent a letter to parents, alerting them to Coy's leave and upcoming TV appearance.

The school's mission statements vow to teach students to become Christian leaders and responsible citizens.

Its faculty signs off on a vision statement with goals such as teaching "Gospel values and self-discipline," which might come into conflict with marrying a stranger on television for money.

"You can't be teaching and do a show like that," Langley said.

I watched it.

I'm not sure what to make of it.

He his a paid actor, his parts involve "scripting" (a/k/a the bloody nose) while she is "reality".

JMHO, but I don't think the 2 (scripted/reality) mix. Seems like Randi & her family are going to be the "butt" of alot of jokes....

I watched it for 45 minutes. I didn't really get into it because I knew he was acting and "on" all the time, kind of ruined it for me. BUT! I cannot wait to see him meet and interact with her family - that looks hilarious.

another show, but I personally feel "Steve" is NOT acting.....I think he is really that Obnoxious!:earseek:

My dh and I watched it. Randi is a moron, more so than Steve. What daughter would sell out her parent's feelings for $$. Why would she agree to hurt them like that only to tell them afterwards it was a joke? She is pretty shallow in my eyes. At least Steve is getting paid as an actor to be a jerk.

JMHO

we watched it....i thought it was rather amusing! can't wait to see how he interacts with her family!!

I thought the show was hysterical. Steve is great and I don't think that is what he is like in real life. That is why he is a paid ACTOR. You can see the difference when he was doing his behind the scenes interviews.

In my opinion if you go on a reality tv-show you have opened up your life to scrutiny. It seems like some people will do anything for a buck and Randi is asking for trouble by signing on for a show by the producers of "Joe Millionaire".

While watching the previews I thought it was a pretty cruel show. The mom was crying, the brother was crying. But then when I sat down to watch it, I couldn't help but crack up laughing. Her poor family.

Too funny - especially when he was yelling in the hot tub while she was supposed to be doing an interview.

hilarious..but he had better stop going so 'over the top' or she is gonna wise up to him really fast..I feel sorry for her..but who would agree to be on a show not knowing the premise before they started?..can't wait to see her family's reaction to Steve..he is a hoot..but if I were Randi..I think I would have already told him to stop acting like a moron somewhat!..can't wait for next week!!

I watched it. OMG, that was the craziest reality TV program yet.

That "Steve" guy looks like the one in the Hungry Man Sports Grill ads (the one who gets blown through the locker room wall after eating only a tea sandwich). If anyone recognizes him from commercials the joke will be over quickly.

I absolutly LOVED it....... Maybe if she weren't such a prude she would think he was kinda funny too.
I cannot wait till next week.

I also watched it to see if it would be good or not. I liked it - it seemed pretty funny.

"Steve" does look like the man from the HM commericals now that you mention it Margie J.
