I have a wart on my head, just into my hair. It's right up front and totally visible when I have my hair back in a ponytail (like for running). How do I get this out of here? I have an appt with a dermatologist, but that's still 2 weeks away! I'm also hoping that I can do somethign that does not involve freezing or surgery. I don't want a bald spot in the first quarter inch of my bangs, if I can help it, ya know?

Anyone have any home remedies that worked for them? The only thing is they can't involve tape, since it's actually IN my hair.

TIA!

have you tried any of the over the counter wart remover type product?

Lat week, I tried using Apple Cider Vinegar, and was GONE in (literally) 3 days!

I used to have warts all over my first and second fingers. Over the counter liquids worked for me. And if you have more than one (I hope not!) if you get rid of one, sometimes the rest follow. It's basically a virus that once you kill it in one spot, it'll die off in another. HTH!

Ok, wait, apple cider vinegar? Did you just dab it on the wart? DS has them on his toes.

I used apple cider vinegar on a wart on the underside of my big toe. It was right on the joint and was driving me crazy!
I duct taped a cotton ball soaked in ACV to the wart and left it on overnight. I tried using it 24x7 but actually had better progress when I let it dry out during the day.
It was gone in about two weeks! The vinegar was (very!) painful at times but I would just remind myself that the wart was dying so the pain is worth it. :)
That was about three months ago and the wart hasn't coming back. It also didn't cost me any money since I already had all the materials on hand.
I definitely advocate this method, especially if you can deal with the temporary discomfort.

Jamie'smom - Yes. Since it was in my hair (literally, on my scalp, about a quarter inch into my hair from my forehead) I took a small piece of cotton ball, dipped it into Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) and put that onto my wart. I then took a piece of saran wrap, put that on top and used a headband to keep it in place. I would sleep like that overnight. It was uncomfortable at times, kinda stingy, but nothing horrible. No worse than a deep paper cut. I did this at night, showered off in the morning, (to get that ACV smell off) and then let it dry out during the day. The first day, it turned white and kinda hard, then had 2 small black dots by the end of the day. I did it again that night, and on the 2nd day, it was white when I took it off, and all soft, and as it dried out during the day, it all turned black. It started coming off like a scab that night (gross!). I kinda helped it along by pulling on it, which I probably shouldn't. That was 2 weeks ago? I'm going to do it this week, another night or two. It's itchy this week, because I think little hairs are trying to come through where it used to be, which is new skin now.

I guess this is an old southern remedy? (My family is from the south).
Take a raw potato. Cut a slice off. Rub it on your wart. Then, bury that slice of potato outside.
I know! Sounds crazy, but it works. Years ago, I finally convinced my DH to try this on a wart he had on his finger. It did work. I think he noticed it was gone, in a couple of weeks. Really.:)

We did this exact thing, except used a slice of onion. DMIL said when the onion rotted, DD's wart would disappear. I thought she was nuts but tried it anyway. It worked! And yes, it was a southern home remedy. :)
