Need suggestions for (preferably) painless removal of warts for little boys? :scared1:

They are so gross! DS8 has about 5 of them on his knee, and DS5 has 7 of them on his stomach. They look the same on both DS, small and whitish-clearish.

I've heard of freezing, but isn't that painful?

I used to have many hand wart problems. Only had em for about 3 years. Haven't had em ever since.

I tried everything. All the remedies there are. Compound W liquid, the wart bandaid thing, duct tape, liquid nitrogen at the dermatologist, etc.

Each had their own problems. My least favorite was going to the dermatologist to get it frozen with the liquid nitrogen because that part of my finger would hurt for weeks after. I couldn't even put my hands in my pockets.

Anyway, the best remedy I used was the Dr. Scholl's dual action wart removal. It uses freezing and a liquid to get rid of the wart. The freezing doesn't hurt half as bad as the one at the dermatologist because it isn't as direct as the liquid nitrogen the dermatologist used on me. The combo of the liquid and the freezing is amazing. Here is a link so you can see what the product looks like. It's the dual action one.

As I said. I tried everything. This is all the worked for me.

We used the Freeze-away stuff on my DD a few years ago. She was probably 7, and never said it hurt. She only had 2 though (on her hand) Might be painful on the stomach.

Good luck. Have you checked w/ the Dr?

My DD had warts on her thumb, and right under her lip (from sucking her wartie thumb) and once she stopped sucking her thumb, they went away on their own pretty quickly (and they were pretty big on her thumb). Maybe just give it some time, and see what happens.

Frankly, I'm an advocate of using the quickest, most efficient method....even if it hurts....like pulling off a bandaid. DS had a wart on the palm of his hand. It was an aggressive little stinker. We tried over the counter stuff....didn't even begin to touch it. Pediatrician tried freezing it.....looked like the same stuff as otc...said upfront that it would take multiple applications to work and to make another appointment for 3 weeks. That hurt a bit, enough that ds didn't like the possibility of doing it 4 more times, and after 3 weeks it looked exactly the same. So, I took him to my dermatologist. He had that thing gone in 2 minutes....literally. He walked into the room...glanced at it...said "I'm going to freeze it and SCRAPE it off" and did it before I could even say "WHAT???" DS is a very brave kid...but it hurt like the dickens. I was very proud of him that he gave the Dr his hand and didn't pull away...he screamed but didn't pull away. The whole thing took probably 45 seconds. It's 5 months later and you can't even tell where it was. It healed very fast..he wore a bandaid for about 2 days. DS says that if he ever gets one again he wants to go to the dermatologist again and get rid of it the quick way!
