Warriors putting their Hearts into it for February.

Stan, good luck with the distance.

Tracy, stepping back for a bit is not a bad thing. You do what you can.

Jim, glad to hear that your half went well. I'm impressed as usual with what you accomplish. Glad the usual aches are not being horrific. Ease back in. Yes, that's a good idea.

I have slacked big time these last few weeks due to LTO stuff. NOLA will be the start of a spring season of many half marathons. I'm hoping the schedule will help me remain focused in training. I've added another half event the following weekend in Annapolis and plan to try to do a bit of a faster one there than NOLA. Not sure how this will play since ITB seems to be trying to creep in here an there these days.

I'll try to post some pics on FaceBook. For those that have not friended me yet, I'd be happy to FB friend ya.

jim well done for getting through the race and actually in pretty amazing form- especially with the PF. Sorry your legs are sore and still giggling that your DW is in charge! Thanks for congrats too.

Pam Every time I look at facebook all i see is sleepy people because of the olympics! I'd love to see the numbers of people who oversleep over the next few weeks :) Great work getting your 3 miles in despite being olympically drained!

Kathey Massive congratulations for signing up for the half :yay::woohoo: yeah you have plenty of time to prepare and it's amazing having a goal to work towards. (thanks for your congrats too!)

Tracy you are very welcome to my word! I can't really claim ownership over it, but glad it makes you feel a little better. Totally understand you pulling back, as Lily said just do as you need to. From what you've written though i hope you are turning a corner

Stan huge goodluck for your 15 miler, it sounds like you've approached training really well though and if you keep in the right mindset it's clear you'll blast through it! Whoop for registering for another Disney race.

Lily your spring line up baffles me! It is astonishingly impressive. I love it- 'i've just popped another half in the following weekend'!!!! Not everyone can do that :) you are a definite warrior.

me went for my first spin class since shin splints first set in so long ago and loved it. I forgot how much i enjoy being yelled at! Some niggles but not terrible. Spent all day sat in the living room researching 'what is a group' oh my word I need to get out :upsidedow

off to do 5 miles at the Y I think I'm on the right week of my training plan for Flying Pig. is it 10 weeks away???? (I'm so confused LOL) I also have to swing by and get the oil in my car changed first!

Hey Warriors,

I made it, 15 miles today!!! Ran it in 2 hours & 38 minutes. Did a progression run and finished the last two miles at 10:02 & 9:32 respectively. I was really happy when I got finished. I ran a total of 105 miles this month.

Off to March to start another week of training. Thanks for all of your encouragement!!!

Hey Warriors,

I did it, ran 15 miles today. That is a first in my running life. I ran it in 2 hours & 38 minutes. I was really excited when I got finished. Starting to believe I can run a full marathon. Ran a total of 105 miles this month.

Start another week of training next week. I'm glad we have finally made it March, well almost. Thanks to everyone for all of the encouragemnt you provide me and all of us on the Warrior team.

Hi Warriors,

Just finished our Sunday walk. Did 6.54 miles at a 18 m pace. This is the most I have walked and it is also the fastest. I hope not to have any problems for the 1/2 marathon walk. We are still going to use March as building me up before we really start working on the speed. My knee does feel it today.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Kathy:banana:

Hi Warriors!

Yesterday was the first Joints in Motion group training run; we're running the Rock n Roll Seattle marathon with the Arthritis Foundation again this year, and are excited to take part in the group training runs again. We only got in 3 miles yesterday, though, as there was just so much socializing going on - it took us 3 hours to get those 3 miles in! :rotfl2: Hopefully next week will be better for actually getting out on the trail before everyone has to go home!

We also went to see some houses this afternoon and put in an offer on a small house. It passes one of my most important criteria - from our front yard, I can see the foot bridge across the Green River that leads to the Green River Trail - a nice long (20+ miles) trail that winds along the riverside. :goodvibes Gotta look out for my running habit first!

Hi Warriors! Leaving NOLA on the way to visit cousins in MS. Half Marathon event was quite fun with WISH Team members present. Strolled at the back of the pack and had a total blast! Did the event in almost my slowest time ever 3:40 something. I have not checked official results yet.

My leg still having issues so that's part of the reason for hanging back. The biggest part of haning back was so we could all enjoy the fun together this time. It was a well run event I think. We also had a great time hanging out with WISh Team friends for the weekend. Nothing but the best of all things.

Lily that sounds like an awesome event! SO pleased you had a blast

Sarah How exciting that you've found a house and what a criteria! That trail sounds seems perfect. eek. :cool1:

Kathy sorry i blatently added an e in your name! Massive congratulations for your fastest walk.

Stan you loved your run so much you wanted to share it twice :) Quite right too.

me did 3miles of hills on TM yesterday, felt sluggish but do-able. Found out today all my sniffles and coughs are tonsilitis so with antibiotics hopefully i'll be back bouncing soon. Oh and we've been looking at wedding venues!!!!!!! This is sooo exciting :)

Happy March Warriors! Standard 4 mile training run tonight- the bad part . . . I have to go to the dentist before hand

ESPN 5k on Saturday. Finished without too much foot pain.

Time to start training for real again. Slowly.

My next event MAY be the The Ohio River Road Runners Club 1/2 Marathon in Xenia, OH on April 11.

OF course, with the way the weather has been this year, they may be under 2' of snow (Which could STILL be warmer than Disney was this year. Go figure.)

OK Warriors, Time to move to March....

Look for the new March Thread
