Warrior Dash????

I've done 1 and just got canceled out of 1.

I did the Lake Wales, Florida one at he end of January and loved it.

Last weekend we made a road trip to the New Orleans, Louisiana one and it was canceled just before our wave was to start due to tornadoes touching down in the area.

Now we are registered for the Georgia event.

Here is a previous thread on the subject: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2647933

Thanks for the link. I didn't realize that there had been a thread within the last few months. :thumbsup2

Is it a big party atmosphere? I have avoided races like this in the past for that reason. But, there's a group of us who are thinking of giving it a try.

Yes, I am the guy on the far right of the inital photo.... the one with the balloons.:scared1:

Kidding.

I do like these kind of unique races --- but would rather do adventure races instead. Less mud, more thought.

I thought I recognized that clown! :lmao:

Yes, there is definitely a "party" atmosphere and most of the participants are probably under 30, but I do these for the fun and challenge of the course and not for the party afterwards.

Really? I'd think it would be a little of both for me. Just a little.

Sorry about weather cancellation.

This was the first time I've been to an event and had it canceled due to the weather before we got to start.

The upside though is, they transferred our registrations to the Georgia event! Road trip in May for me and the kids!!!!

Just noticed they're bringing this race to Ontario for the first time! I tried to convince someone else at work to come along and she said "It looks like an accident waiting to happen!"

If you can figure out the shower concerns for after the race, I may be convinced to do it with you!

:thumbsup2 Awesome!!! I'll shoot the organizers an email and see what they have to say.

Oh never mind... it was in the FAQ:

Are there showers available after the challenge?
There will be a Warrior Wash station to rinse off after the race, but stay home if you don’t like getting dirty.

Don't count on the Warrior Wash to get you spotless. It's usually a "community" overhead shower of hoses attached to a water truck.

Your final state of cleanliness will depend on the "stickyness/stinkyness" of the mud on the course and the quality of the water in the final mud pit.

Best bet is to keep a couple gallons of water stashed in your car trunk for a sponge bath. But even then, a lot of mud tends to follow you home and remain hidden until you can take a real shower.

These really are fun events and really bring out some wild characters.

lol It does sound like a ton of fun... I think I could convince my DBF and his guy buddies to do this too which means I wouldn't have to drive all the way to Barrie alone! :cool1:

I'm still on the fence but it's appealing more and more to me.

I'm okay with not getting squeaky clean after the race. I just didn't want to drive home caked in mud and get the inside of a car all dirty. :cutie:

Vicky: Could I convince you to come to KC??????? Kidding.
I really want to do this now. I have to convince at least 3 friends to go with me and I have one on board, I think. I have no issue getting muddy and will just throw some towels over the car seats.
Of course, I'll probably be the oldest person there, but wth?

Where are you Saylan? I am thinking of doing this race and going out of my comfort level :scared1: Barrie isn't too too far but I'd like to do it with someone ;)

I'm out near Woodstock. lol It's a bit of a drive but still it might be fun. I'm a girly girl though so it's a little unnerving to think of some of the obstacles involved.

Tandy - Looks like KC is about a 17 hour drive from Toronto. It depends on what the gas prices are like but I could definitely look into it!

I'm doing a Warrior Dash this saturday! I signed up a while ago with the people in my boot camp class and we're all gonna run it together as a team and help each other along as needed...looks like loads of fun! And BONUS...I onnly live about 5 miles from where it's being held so I don't have to stay dirty for long! I'll let you guys know how it was next week. We all had to come up with our own warrior names and put them on our shirt...here's what I did...
