First of all I'm not a huge roller coaster fan...I LOVE Splash and Big Thunder...My dad loves Splash, Space, BT also but he HATED Everest!!!
He went on for my mom, brother, and me as a scout.
He came back shaking and looking "puke green".
When he calmed down he told us that Everest was 10 times rougher then Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
I also HATED seeing parents drag their whimpering kids up to Everest telling them that it is just like BTMR.
I just hate it.

So sorry he had a bad time. I love it, and find it smoother than BT, but I always try to ride in the middle or toward the front. The Back end of RnR, BT, and EE can tend to be very bumpy.

Sorry he didn't like it. The first time I rode EE I got quesy(sp?) also. The backward movement took me by surprise and my head hit hard into the headrest. I have ridden it three times since and I just keep my head back against the headrest and I have had no problems since.

I liked it better than BTM. I guess it all depends on the rider.

We loved Everest! So sorry your Dad didn't like it and felt ill. It was one of the best rides we ever did!:cool1:

I also found it smoother than BTMR. I think it's the most fun of the WDW coasters. I'm sorry your dad didn't enjoy it. I think everyone needs to try it for themselves though. My DS 13 considers it his favorite WDW ride, my DS 12 ranks it second behind RnRC. My nephew 12 and niece 11 also liked it best.

My two DDs, DH and my dad went on it last month for the first time. Two of them felt very sick afterward, the other two just felt slightly sick. They said it was the backwards part that really got to them.

I liked it a lot -I never get ill on rides, but my friend puked in front of the gift shop LOL

My favorite ride in all of WDW. It's an incredible ride that's not too intense, IMO.

I think RnRC is more intense. It's faster and has loops. EE is more intense than BT, but not by a huge amount.

So the moral to the story? Everyone is different, some may love Everest, some not so much. Won't know until you try it.

We all loved it. No one sick on our watch. I think it is a way more smooth ride than BTMRR, but love both. The backwards thing didnt bother me, although I felt like we were actually going upside down the first time I rode it. In the dark and backwards it felt as if we were going upside down. I kept telling myself that there were no shoulder harnesses and we werent upside down. We LOVE that coaster!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

We all loved it. None of us felt sick. We all thought it was very smooth and we were in the middle. Hope it didnt ruin your fathers day. I dont do well on Mission Space and a couple of years ago it sent me straight to my room for the rest of the day. I even skipped dinner that night. It was AWFUL!!!

Well, I really didn't enjoy it either mainly because my daughter was so frightened. I would do it again if I went on with an adult, just to give it a fair shake. I was so concerned about my daughter that I couldn't experience it for myself.

The ride wasn't rough, but it was intense. The flying backward through the dark was pretty disorienting and honestly, I was shaking a little when I got off too.

I think it's quite a bit more intense than BTMR, but much smoother! I can't ride BTMRR because it makes my back hurt, but I'm fine on EE!

I love BTMR but HATE EE. How anyone can compare the 2 is beyond me-other than the fact that there are no loops and that they're both coasters.

I am surprised people got sick on it... I thought it was pretty lame and a letdown after all the hype, to be honest. We rode it once - even though we could have walked back on - because it just wasn't that exciting. I can't really compare it to BTMR which is over the top tame.

I'll have to ride it again next trip and see if it's any better.

I do hate to hear people who get sick on vacation from rides =( Ruins the day, I know.

Though I do still ride BTMRR, I agree that it does shake my bones around more than Everest does. DD9 loves both.

I LOVE EE! It is my favorite Ride!!! I think the backwards part is SOO fun~! It adds a little something unusual to the ride!

I am sorry that you DH didn't like it!

Eh, I didn't think it was that big a deal at all. I am afraid of heights and a semi-ride chicken (I won't go on any of the big coasters at Universal, for example), but EE didn't bother me in the least! It was smooth and fun. The only part during which I closed my eyes is when they ratchet you up, up, up...I can't stand to look around too much (although I did peek)!

I find Everest to be a lot less intense than Space Mountain or Big Thunder Mountain. I expected a lot more from Everest, but it was like a kiddie roller coaster to me. I still love it, but it's more about the Yeti to bring thrills and not the actual coaster.
