I just wanted to let everyone know, though my warning is probably too late for this year, that Tony's offeres a 'modified' dining menu during lunch in Spetember. Translation - if you're paying oop, don't bother to eat here. Even if you're on the dining plan, you could do better.

We were surprised when we were handed the menu for Tony's that the menu items I had seen online were not on the menu. There were only two menu entrees that were under $15 (white pizza $12 and baked ziti about the same price), the rest were closer to $20 (rolatini $19.50, spagetti w/meatball $18.50, strip steak $24 - I think)

In my mind, the food was not worthy of the prices either. The kid's mac n cheese was the same as what they serve in the Quick service places. Not the real cheese mac-n cheese they used to serve all over WDW, but the orange, pasty, from-a-box kind. The ziti was modest scoop of noodles with a meat ragu. Not fresh made noodles - from-a-box noodles. I've had better food at a pot luck dinner, and that's not saying much. I hate pot luck dinners. We also ordered the eggplant, it was three small rolatini over basic spagetti. Again, nothing worthy of a $20 price tag by a long run, IMHO. I can get better rolatini from the freezer case in my local grocery store - and more of it.

Alas, you'd think for these prices you'd at least get good service and bread. But this was not the case either. The service was disjointed, despite three staff members that mostly stood nearby talking to each other the entire time we were eating (never did figure out what their job was), and another lady who walked around asking survey questions. When I asked if there was any bread available I was told, "No. the only bread we have are the kind of garlic bread sticks they have at Olive Garden." At least at Olive Garden you get a bottomless salad to go with them....the Entrees at Tony's didn't come with any sides. At least our waiter was honest.

When we went last week for lunch, I was upset they did not have sandwiches on the menu. When I asked our witchy waitress she looked at me like I had 10 heads.

Did they ever have sandwiches? good sandwiches go to the Plaza.

That sounds like the dinner we experienced back in '04. Over $70 for spaghetti & meatball (1 meatball), the pasta with shrimp/seafood in it, a kids pizza and a kids spaghetti. The sauce then tasted like it came out of a can (not a jar, jarred would have been better). No salad, we did get a little lit of bread with a dip, and our sodas/iced teas. We have not been back. Sorry to hear that you also experienced this.

I have an ADR for Tony's (for dinner) on my upcoming trip in November. I'm getting worried I may not like it. I'm really having second thoughts.

EEKK! I just made an ADR last week for lunch in December here. Now I am rethinking it for sure!!

For those that are rethinking your ADR's for Tony's, don't, especially for dinner. We go to Tony's on every trip, and will be back there in Nov. We have never had a bad experience. Never was our food bad or the service. We even had a party of 10 there and everything was great! The food has always been good and we always get seconds with a smile of the pesto dip and bread, which is our favorite! I even got the recipe and make it at home. Everyone will eventually have a bad experience somewhere. Most people on here love LTT, we went and had a horrible experience but we are glad we gave it a try. You never know until you try it. I just don't want people to get discouraged who have ADR's coming up. Just because a few people had a bad experience doesn't mean you will. We love it, but then again we expect high prices at WDW and we don't expect gourmet at a theme park. Maybe our expectations are low so we usually have a good meal at most places!!LOL;)

We were disappointed in mid-September when we went as well. We've always been big fans of Tony's. We've gotten great service, never had to wait for a table or past our reservation time and the food has been great. We went for lunch, expecting paninis but were handed a dinner menu. When we asked, the waiter told us that anticipating the crowds (free dining) during Septmeber, they'd switched to serving the same menu all day. They expected volume to be high all day and serving from one menu saved the kitchen prepping for two different menus during a work day.
Had we known this, I think we would have dined somewhere else. Instead, my BFF & I shared appetizers, since it was lunch and we really wanted something light. We also paid OOP instead of using our DDP.
Like I said, we've always loved Tony's but I don't think we'll be back.

We weren't thrilled with Tony's last year and this year we rated it a "Blech". DD was sick from the baked ziti, of all things. Won't bother next year.

We ate there on Sept 21 before MNSSHP. The food was average. We received the appetizer and main course within minutes of each other. My chicken dish was warm at best. Our original waiter never came back to check on us. No drink refills. And then he asked for our card when we ordered dessert. We were rushed, the food was not so great and the service was horrible. I complained at guest services.

We ate at some amazing restaurants on our recent trip, but we won't go back to Tony's.

We've had two very good meals at Tony's--in January & a just a few weeks ago in September. I did notice the September menu was very different from what we had in January--seemed more limited even though we were there for dinner. My DH & I both really enjoyed our meals--my steak was excellent. The service was lacking in September as I found it to be everywhere with free dining (we didn't have any service that I would rank higher than acceptable). In January though we had an excellent waitress who did a fantastic job. It will be closed for refurb when we're there again or it would be on our list to do again.

Just to report we had a great meal (dinner) at Tony's on our August trip... I haven't started my Dining TR yet.

We got Minestrone Soup, Tomato & Mozzarella Salad (really good!), both got the Steak which was awesome, Tiramisu and Amaretto Cheesecake. We got a pretty good server too!

Tony's is down for our next trip too!!

Several years ago this was one of our favorites....and then it started with the bread at lunch...used to be great Italian bread and pesto sauce...went to cheap store bought bread sticks...and the food just went downhill.....we hate it...

The Olive Garden is only a few blocks away and you get a whole lot more, a whole lot better tasting for a whole lot less!

Avoid at all costs!
