Warning about Crowds

For what it is worth, we just got back from pre-Thanksgiving trip. Actually, we are still at my parents for Thanksgiving. Anyway, we were in MK on Sunday before Thanksgiving and that was the worst crowd I've ever seen!!

We usually go the week between Christmas and New Year's and boy were we surprised by how heavy the crowds were this week. One CM said that Sunday is usally a lite day because that is when so many people go back home and she couldn't understand why the park was going to be open so late on a Sunday in November. Then she realized why when she saw the crowds.

We were staying at the Swan and were told on Tuesday (early entry day for MGM) at 8:45 that MGM was packed and expected to close at 9:00 am to more guest...opening time was at 9:00 am!!! We have often seen the MK close to new guest before mid moring...+ or - 10:30 am during Christmas week. But we didn't expect this so early in the pre-Thanksgiving week.

My guess is that it will be unusually heavy during the post Christmas week.

Thanks for the heads up I guess we better to lace them sneaker's and plan on arriving early to get in some not so crowded touring.

Last July, we were at MK on EE day and got about 11 things accomplished before about 11:00. Last Sunday we got about 5 things accomplished before 11:00! It was definately a plus to use fast pass as much as possible. Don't forget, if your fast pass return time is more than 2 hours from the time you get them, you can get another without having to wait for the beginning of the return window. This came in handy more than once when we got fast passes before lunch and the return window was for 6:30 pm.

wow, is it really gonna be unusually crowded this year? i sure hope now. oh well, crowds are crowds. more planning is needed
