Warming baby bottles in parks

Hi!

We are bringing our baby daughter for her first visit to WDW in April. She will be just shy of 6 months when we are there.

Will cast members are counter service restaurants fill a large cup with hot water in order to warm her bottles?

We'd rather not go all the way to the baby care centre if we're at the opposite end of the park.

Thanks in advance!

We took a trip when my son was 8 months (not to Disney, but to someplace where we would be out and about). We got those premade single serve bottles for the trip, so they could be kept at room temp and didn't have to be refrigerated. My son never had issues taking a room temp bottle. Would something like this work for you? It was kind of expensive (as if formula isn't expensive anyway!!), but it was so worth the hassle of not having to find hot water when we were out someplace.

I have to say, that was my favorite thing about him turning 1. No more formula and no more bottles!!

By 6 months, room temp water should be fine. I would just pre fill the bottles and have then in the diaper bag, then mix as needed.

We are doing ready-to-feed formula now and that's the plan for the trip but she does NOT like room temperature at all. It has to be warmed or she won't take it. Maybe she'll grow out of it by then or maybe she won't but I'd like to have a plan in case we do need to warm bottles in the park.

I would guess at table service they would bring u a cup of hot water...Just a guess though. I would work hard at being able to do room temperature by the trip. We carried the powder and had room temperature water bottles that were for her bottles. Makes it so easy! Good luck and enjoy your trip.

Alright, I understand I'm going to sound like the worst mother in the world here lol, but how would you feel about getting her used to drinking it room temperature? This is what I did with my 3rd kiddo and it was so much easier to be able to feed her whenever. I filled her bottles with water the night before and then brought a little compartmentized container that had enough for 4 feedings (I measured out and put in the container the night before as well.) Then, whenever she was hungry, I could just pull it out and feed her, whether we were on a ride, watching a show etc.

About a month before our trip I started filling her bottles with 1/2 room temp. & 1/2 heated and after about a week I just went to room temp. and she never seemed to mind or notice.

As I've said, maybe she'll get used to room temperature bottles by then and maybe she won't. We're not going to stress over it.

I would just like to know if anyone knows or has had the experience of asking quick service restaurants for a cup of hot water the same as we can get a cup of ice water in case we need it.

Ok so it's easy for them to give ice water. It's filtered water that they stick ice in and say "Here ya go."

Unless the restaurant serves tea, they may not have a reason to have a hot water heater.

I think you'll probably find that most people just give their kids room temperature formula. There's probably someone out there somewhere that seems wanted hot water, and you may find one on this message board, but it's also very possible you won't.

One place that probably has a hot water heater is the Starbucks location at each park. I'm not a coffee or tea drinker, but I think they serve hot tea. You could also use the coffee maker in your room to heat up water and carry it in a thermos to keep it hot. Or you may be bringing a bottle warmer with you to keep in your room. You could use it to heat up water and put it in the thermos.

my guess is any place that makes tea would be able to give you a cup of hot water - ie starbucks, the bigger quick serves ie restaurantasourus, abc commissary, sunshine seasons, cosmic rays etc.

Thanks for the info.

I'm surprised to learn that they don't serve tea everywhere!

One option is to use the baby care centers. They have microwaves, so you could either warm the bottle directly, or use a cup to heat the water. Another option is this:

https://www.amazon.com/Tommee-Tippe...p_links-20&ascsubtag=bestproducts.gallery.524

It's specific for the Tommee Tippee bottles, but you could always just buy one or two for the trip to use. Or see if your current bottles would fit.

I have 3 kids and the first 2 would drink their bottles at any temp. But this last one, needs it warm all the time!

The baby care centre will always be our first option so long as it is close.

I am looking for options when we are at the opposite end of the park.

That bottle warmer is a great idea. Thanks for the tip!

at a counter serve unless they serve coffee or hot drinks I will guess no luck as most hot tap water will take more than one cup of water which would take time when you have a hungry baby. I am basing this from the small park granted not Disney

I wonder if you could just pop your head into any table service place and ask for a mug of hot water. maybe bring one of those small thermos funtainer jars with you and ask them to fill it so you could take it back outside. Those would be the perfect size to heat a bottle in. Might be worth an ask!

@101Pongo Yes, counter service locations that serve hot beverages should be able to provide you with a cup of hot water to use. Remember to ask for just a half-cup, or it will spill over the top once you pop the bottle in.

Most of the counter service locations that serve "meal" food (as opposed to the kiosks or those serving just a snack) will be able to do this. If you happen to ask at one that can't accommodate, just go to another; most areas of the parks have multiple locations for food.

Enjoy your vacation!

ETA: I just did a quick look through menus at MK, filtered by Counter Service, and of the 24 places listed only about 5 or 6 did not have hot beverages available. So it should be fairly easy to find hot water.
