it's time to put back on socks and shoes instead of flip flops:sad1 . please help me find some kind of socks that will keep my feet warm while messing around in the house. i wear socks with my tennis shoes, slippers or crocs while in the house but my feet still get cold. any help will be appreciated.

I wear Thorlo brand walking socks with my tennis shoes and rarely have a problem with cold feet.

I keep the temp chilly in here and what I love for my feet are the NAP socks from brookstone- basically just those super soft socks. They would work in crocs no problem - not sure with sneakers. I usually just wear the socks in the house- no shoes.

Smartwool are amazingly warm! I wear them all Winter long, in and out of the house.

I second this. I love their socks and have countless pairs, one of which I'm wearing right now. They usually run $8-20 a pair though, but they're SO worth it. I wear them year-round because they make thin running kind up to thick winter boot kind.

Whichever socks you choose, also put on a pair of Crocks. The heat stays in!

I wear fleece socks from LLBean. They are $15 a pair, but they are warm and cozy.

I love smartwool socks, that what I asked my mom to get me for Christmas this year.

Might check the hunting section of your local Sprawlmart store for warm socks at a reasonable price.

I don't know if they still make them or how available they are, but I have a pair of Birkenstock socks that are nice and toasty!

I don't know what brand they are but I found a really great pair in the clearance bin at Dick's. I paid $1 for them. They are warm, thick, fuzzy and so soft. I hunted in that bin for another pair, I only found a lone sock with no match to be found anywhere.

I cannot find them on the Dick's site, I think the closest are a pair of Columbia. Mine are footies though, they come up just to the ankle.

You will want to avoid cotton socks...cotton retains moisture, which then evaporates, which leads to frozen "piggies".

Try silk sock liners. My dh always has cold feet and swears by them. He was outside all last weekend due to ds' tennis tournament and said his feet stayed toasty warm. You can buy them at sporting goods stores.
