I haven't seen it yet but I've heard great things about it. I'll wait until it comes out on DVD since I don't have HBO.

Yah...the one I've been watching is called Game of Thrones.

No worries, I'm horrible with names.

I'm loving it but we're a few weeks behind. We're needing a marathon night to catch up. I'm thinking about ordering the books on Kindle and reading at least the first book before watching the rest of season 1.

We watch it. DS and DH really like it a lot. Me....it's okay. Just not my kind of thing.
DS has read the books.

from what I understand, the whole series is more massive and complicated than the entire hobbit and "ring" series by Tolkin.

the author himself said he doubted they could make a film about it. (hype?)

but it is a pretty good series.

and I for one, am glad the barbarian king FINALLY took care of his brother in law!
