War disussion thread

I thought we could start a thread just for the discussion of war.

The Germans just issued a statement telling all Germans to get out of Iraq any way they can ASAP!! Just came across on Fox.

I have a relative who signed up to go over on an intel mission. He was only thinking a year but has been asked to stay for at least 4 years. He is now selling everything and has to be over "there" in four weeks. He is the one who I stated that this war would be going on for quite a while a while back in a previous thread months ago.

My sister's kids school had an "emergency situation " drill the other day. No one knew it was coming. They locked the elementery school down, turned off the lights and simulated loud noised outside. The kids were all scared to death. Some autistic boy started flipping out over the noises. I felt so sorry for him. They told the kids that in an emergency situation that they might have to duct tape the windows with plastic. The parents never received a notice about this. My niece wanted to cry but stayed brave.

Are you serious?I would imagine that school got PLENTY of irate calls for doing that!They should have notified the parents that on a certain day,or even during a specific week that they were going to conduct a drill.That way the parents could in some way prepare their children.I know I would be callong and outraged

Our school district is one of those that tries to pretend nothing could happen in our small town. I wish they would do 'something' but what your sisters child experienced is insane!

The news was scary this morning --- more so than any day to date so far (concerning the impending war). It sounds like NYC is doing flips trying to get as prepared as possible for if the war starts and terrorists could use them as targets again.

I also read on cnn.com that they were considering adding another threat level between orange and red for if the war starts. With the thought being that orange will not be HIGH ENOUGH but the highest of RED would cause widespread panic. You can read the article HERE .

I want this to all be over and all of our men and women home dafe and sound with their familes. I want Osama and Saddam to be gone.
