Has anyone attended the Wantilan Luau at the Royal Pacific Resort. I can't seem to find any review information anywhere and was wondering if anyone here could weigh in.

Thanks!

Yes, DW and I were there this past October and we liked it. Unfortunately, the location they normally have it was being renovated, and so they had the luau on the lawn. So they had several round tables set up and we shared the table with 5 other adults and 4 children. The food was delicious, had a South Pacific flavor and was served buffet style. Table servers handled drink requests which were included with your meal. The Mai-Tais were good but weak, so some of the other people at our table were switching to wine.

A stage was also set up for entertainment which consisted of musicians and luau dancers (3 women and 2 men). The dancers had several different outfits throughout the luau representing the different cultures in the South Pacific. The m.c. did a good job of working the crowd for laughs. After a while, they started bringing some of the guests up on the stage for luau dance lessons.

We stayed at the RPR but unfortunatly did not go to the wantilan luau, but after reading about it I definitely want to try it. From what I read they built a new all weather building for the luau where it use to be just weather permitting. Here is a menu from the luau http://www.wdisneyw.co.uk/menuuslu.html Here is a brief review: http://www.theotherorlando.com/contents/chapters/3a/luau.html and here are a few pictures:http://www.theotherorlando.com/contents/chapters/3a/luau.html Happy Hula Dancing :cool1: :dancer:

I went to the luau a year ago. It was a lot of fun. My DS,9, enjoyed it. It lasted from 6 to about 9. The dancers and fire eater were very good. The food was very good and had a nice variety. If ou have kids, they also have a kid's buffet. I think it's a little pricey, but worth the experience. I wouldn't go every time I'm at Universal, but I'd go again.

Thanks everyone. I too thought the price was a bit steep and, although it would be something new & different to try, I didn't want to pony up the admission without someone confirming it was worthwhile. Appreciate the info!
