I saw this post and had to see what you'd created. Very cute!
I actually had the same idea after looking at the insanely priced Disney lamps.
I used the clear Mickey epoxy stickers inside my lampshade for a more subtle design. It's barely noticeable when the light is off and just provides nice shading when it's on.
That's too funny that we had the same type of idea and never crossed paths until now.
Here's a picture of my (almost) finished room. I'd taken these shots to show how I put the computer in the closet giving DS more room for his play room. I still need to put pictures and such on the walls. I have a huge Mickey mirror that I need to hang first. Once that heavy beast has a home then I can hang the rest of my stuff.
If anyone has tips on hanging this 10 ton mirror, I'd love to hear them. There are no hooks on the back - only place we can see to use is the three loops on the very top and that doesn't look super secure - especially with a 2 year old in the house!
The actual mirror fills the entire area (hard to tell in the picture) and it's nearly 3 feet across. (don't know why I thought it was smaller - it DOES say it's 32 inches diameter!) Anyway - there ARE 3 loops at the top, not just one like in the picture - the center one is the biggest and then two smaller ones beside it (not 'hidden Mickey' - just 3 loops beside each other)
