Want to visit Nova Scotia

After a big meal, push back your chair, undo your belt buckle and proclaim, "Man dear, that was some good big feed!" :lmao:

On area my fellow Bluenosers have failed to mention is the North Shore along the Northumberland Strait. It has the nicest beaches and warmest water for swimming in the Province. The Sunrise Trail is a great drive you get to see a lot of rural country side with many seaside villages just a few minutes apart. Having been born in the Great Province of Nova Scotia this was always my favorite part. And it's all just a couple of hours away from Halifax.

I must say I have always regretted leaving NS to work in PEI. It's not that far away but, PEI just doesn't cut it compared to NS. NS has so much more to offer.

We're from Texas and are heading back to Halifax in about a month! We went last year and loved it.

I actually won this trip to go back by entering a photo contest from a Halifax tourism company :cheer2: "A Perfect Day in Halifax" submit a photo showing your day in halifax. We planned to check out the west coast this year but are excited to go back to Nova Scotia.

Things we did/plan on doing

Peggy's Cove (go early in the day before the bus loads come)
Public Gardens
Citadel (take the tour) go at noon and hear the cannon
Pier 21 (history of Halifax/immigration)
Tall Ship Silva tour
Harbour Hopper tour
Maritime Museum
Garrisons Brewing Co (right outside Pier 21 for a great beer!)
Whale tour
Keiths Brewery and tour - it was fun.
Old Burying Grounds
We went to the Fairview Lawn cemetery on the way out somewhere else (I think our Peggy's Cove morning) and saw where some of the Titanic victims are buried. I love cemeteries - weird I know.

We loved the Donairs!!! It was weird at first because it's basically a Gyro w/a sweet sauce. We did not like it much at first but then we craved them later

So is KOD is no good??

Oh we also plan on hitting the Farmers Market. i think it might just be a weekend thing. It's supposedly HUGE w/ so much food - and the crepe makers were recommended to us.

We ate at Bish one night - fancy but good. Chives was suggested by a local friend - great but a bit more casual. Actually #1 on trip advisor.

We are going during the International Busker Festival so lots of entertainment there.

We are flying to New Hampshire and driving up the coast of New Brunswick and stopping at Cape Enrage and Hopewell Rocks on the Bay of Fundy. I LOVE those places and have to go back. Then driving to Halifax. So a bit of a road trip but you should try to get out the Bay of Fundy on the Nova Scotia side. Not sure the places to see the tides. Oh the Bay of Fundy has the largest tides in the world rising and falling up to 50 a day. You can see water way up high then hrs later walk way out on the ocean floor.

Have fun!!!
