We have the great advantage of the Dis boeards DVC Rent/Trade board. Does anyone know how I could reach timeshare ownesrs of a specific resort to trade points at DVC.

We are interested in Hyatt Hacienda del Mar in Puerto Rico. Does anyone know if Hyatt or ohter timeshares have a similar type of trading board reference? I will probably post on the Dis DVC R/T boards, but figure I woulfd have a better chnce of going where I want if I went to a Hyatt person.
Thanks for any help.

The TUG site has a "direct exchange" board, where people list the resort they're desiring to get, and then list what they have to trade for it.

That sounds like a good place for you to start.

You can also check the "Want to Rent" board for those looking for DVC, then contact them and see what they have to offer.

The URl is http://www.tug2.net

Good Luck!

Thanks for those websites. I just checked ut the TUG and there is one for the location I want -Hacienda del Mar in Puerto Rico. It is for a 2 BR at $3500!!! I thought that that was very steep. It is a straight rental not a trade-but $3500 seems to be alot to me for one week!

What would be the going rate for a week. What is the fair market value of a week at a DVC resort 2BR?

Colleen-Wouldn't that be nice!! Actually, we used to go to PR alot pre-kids and after the cold and snow this winter we really miss the weather and beach of PR. DH and I did get a recent weekend away at Hershey, PA. It was a retreat for couples. Pretty good time-it snowed. Just good to get away.

I love Hershey! It is one of my favorite places (after WDW, of course!) There is nothing like the smell of chocolate to make me happy. I have told my DH many times that after the kids are bigger, I want to stay at the Hotel Hershey and have the spa treatment where they wrap your body in chocolate goop. Even Disney doesn't offer THAT!

Nezy-

You can get a sense of "fair market value" of DVC properties by looking at the points chart on this site and using a rough value of $10/point. You can also check cash prices through an agent.

reneesam-That si what I usually do-$10/pt. So, if for me to trade to Hacienda del Mar in PR it is 270pts. for a 2 BR, than $3500 by the owner direct (which is what I saw on TUG) would be at least $800 too much!!

Colleen-As soon as I was at the Hotel Hershey I wondered why it wasn't part of the Conierge Collection. My DH said Disney would not offer a location near another them park. We did smell the chocolate in the air!!
