I am very new to the idea of pin collecting/trading. I just started thinking I might like to start doing that today. I was wondering if all you experts could help me out by filling me in on anything I might need to know.

Also, where can I get more information on the pins. I have read some posts about people looking for X amount of pins in a series or collection of characters. Where do they find that info? I thought I something else about a pin collecting guide on values or something. Does that ring a bell with anyone?

I also have a DD2 (almost 3) and I figure she is probably to young to understand it. Is that right or do any of you have experience with young children doing it as well?

Thanks so much for any information you can provide that would help me get started and understand this more.

PinPics.com and Dizpins.com are 2 of the more useful sights

DD3 might be a bit young but you won't know until you try.

There is a Tomart Guide, which is sold at the parks. It's OK, but realize that it's out of date even as it is rolling off the presses. It can help the new pin trader in knowing the relative collectability of the pin by putting them in a lettered catagory.

We started my grandnephew when he was 2 and had a ball trading pins with the Cast Members.

Thanks for the information. I am excited to learn more about the pins and finding some really cute ones.

We leave tomorrow for WDW. I can't wait to see all the different available pin designs they have. I just wish I would have thought of this sooner so I could have bought some off Ebay, like I have seen so many others do. Oh well, at least I discover it now rather than after we got home from the trip.
