Hey, I found this new Secret,HAD to share it with my Dis Buddies!!

There is something new with the FP system!! When you get an FP, it will tell you when another FP is available on that FP. For example, if you get an FP for Thunder Mountain, that Thunder Mountain FP will tell you at what time you can get another FP. This new feature is so cool!!

But Shushhhhh,keep it secret,ok?? ;) ;)

This is part of the enhanced Fastpass system that Disney has rolled out.
Most people did not know that they could get a new Fastpass at the beginning of the window to ride on their current pass. They were waiting until the end of the window.
Of course, since this new information is printed right on the ticket... I don't know how much of a secret this is!

We just got back and this works great!

We would grab a FP for say RnR, we would go see a show, usually during the show our FP would 'activate' and then on the way back to the FP ride we would pick up another one for say ToT. And we kept doing this all week long. We almost always had two FP's in hand.

Another tip: We had my twin daughters with us that just turned 4 and are not ready yet for the big rides. We used their tickets to get two extra FP's. This way I would wait with the twins while the others rode, and then I would ride with my FP and two of the others could ride again while my wife waited with the twins.

Heck, I had to pay for the tickets, we might as well use them!!!

Couple of years ago my husband and I got to ride RnR 3 times in an hour spand. Somehow got got some comp. fastpass (I forgot how, maybe a ride broke down while we were on it). We got to MGM first thing in the morning. The wait for the line was 35 mins and the FP pass time was an in an hour. So we got the FP from the machines. Got in the stand-by line. Took ride 1. Went around to the FP line and used our comp. FP. Took ride 2. Then went around again to use the real FP. Took ride 3. It was pretty fun.

A CM told us about a year and a half ago that you only had to wait til the start time of your fast pass....so we would always get another fast pass before going on the one that was active.

IT was a great tool for planning our day...and getting the most done. I thought it was just a secret shared among us dis-ers.

BUt, now the cat is out of the bag. Actually, all kidding aside..it amazes me how many people DONT use the fastpass system...why wouldnt you>?.......SOmetimes i cant look at their faces...they have been waiting 45-1hours...and we just walk right on....sooo why didnt they just get a pass???

I think they need to come out with FP for speedway..horray!

My dizzy for disney site

I'm always amazed at the people in the stand-by line that complain because the people walking past them have "special tickets." I feel even worse for their kids who have to wait with them!

I'm kind of glad they did this. I mean, it's bad for those of us who already knew it, but it sure does help out a lot of families :D

My favorite nice thing to do is/was to explain the system to people. They were always so happy to know that they didn't have to wait! It's so confusing & it's good that Disney is trying to help out their guests.

Now we need to find out a new secret about FP & keep it a secret!! :Pinkbounc

This was no secret:D
And it worked out great for us!! We would get one FP, do a show or less crowded ride. Then just after the beginning of the first FP time, get one for another ride. Ride the first FP ride. Then it would be time for another FP. Go for the 3rd FP, ride the second, go for the 4th, ride the 3rd, etc.....
We did this for all the attractions/rides at AK and MGM. Boy did that save time!!
The only glitch was when a FP was for later in the day.
By 10 am at Epcot, the FP were up to 4pm for Test Track. YIKES!! We had planned the whole day there so went ahead and got FP. But in this case the new FP time was 2 hours from when you got your FP. So, at 10am we got FP for TT, then at noon we were eligible to get another, even though we could not use the TT one til 4pm. But at Epcot, we really didn't need FP for any other attraction.

I too don't understand why more people don't use FP. I know alot of them really don't understand how it works.
Quick question too.....is FP available for one-day, one-park tickets???
I did notice ALOT of people trying to get FP and getting a ticket with the message they were not eligible. But not sure why. They had no idea why either and CMs were trying to do alot of explaining!!!

Do you think its because people don't plan as well as we do? My girlfriend and her family are going the same time as us and I gave her my passporter to read, gave her this site but do you think she has looked at any of them:(

She asked me about a pass the other day that you buy to make sure you don't have to wait in line:confused: I finally realized she was talking about fast Pass and it took me a good 30 minutes to explain to her that it is free and how to use it. She kept insisting that a cousin went last year and had to pay $30 for this special pass:crazy:

As much as I love her as a best friend I think I will plan my days opposite of hers. Oh wait! She hasn't planned where she is going when:earseek:

CINDYFAN, was there the first of May and yes, the Fast Pass system works with a one-day one-park pass. What a time saver!;)

Another secret is.... if you use old tickets that still had passes left on them, it takes a day for them to "update" in the system and you can try and put them through for fast passes along with your current tickets used for entry that day. We did this and were able to get 8 fast passes, 4 for one ride and 4 for another.

Also if you have two ressies at the hotel because of price rate changes and your tickets are on your "key" you can use both sets of keys for double fast passes. This happened to us last time. We had a peak rate and a discount rate and had to check out and check back in. The day we did this we were able to use both keys for fast passes all day.

tarabl......?.....I don't understand what you are trying to say??..about using "old tickets that still had passes left on them"???
Do you mean a park ticket that was already used?

We had tickets from 2000 that had one day left on them. Our first day in the MK we used them instead of using our NEW four day park hoppers. The 2000 tickets were the ones that we used for fast passes the day after. So...on Tuesday morn. in MK we used tickets from 2000 with one day on them, making them empty. Then Wednesday in Epcot we used our new four day park hoppers. My husband slid the 2000 tickets into the fast pass and they worked giving us a scheduled time. We then went over to another fast pass and got fast passes with our current four day park hoppers.

Hope that explains it. I knew it sounded confusing as I was typing it. It seems like it takes one day for the system to catch up making the ticket invalid.

I also just wanted to add that you do need to check those times, because on 6/29 we FP TT at 11:20 am and our return time was between 4:55 - 5:55pm, but it said that we could get another FP after 1:25pm, so we didn't have to wait for the window to start.

You were able to get another FP at 1:25 because if your FP has a return time of more than 2 hours away, you can get another FP 2 hours after the first one. That's something most people didn't realize.

In response to some of the earlier posts about people not using the FP system......There are those that get a late time right off the bat for a FP and therefore have to stand in line for the other rides.I know I have walked away from the FP machine if it had a late time and would try to use it for another ride.

We noticed this too in May. We also noticed not all the tickets printed this information.

Even with FP it is a timing thing and you have to learn to play the game :D
We did have one day where it just didn't work out well for us.....
We tried to get FP for the safari at AK, and we wanted to see the Lion King, and Tarzan shows.
Well DH made the mistake of getting the FP too early, so.......The FP was good for 10:30 til 11:30, the LK show was at 11am or noon, and the Tarzan show at 11:15 and 1:15 (if I remember right:confused: ) and we couldn't get another FP til 11:35, which would not put us on the safari til after 12:45 or so.
Anyway, we had to choose which we wanted to do.
Then we couldn't get on Kali River because we had to wait til 11:35 for the FP (the line was up to 1 1/2 hour, and by then FP was up to 4pm and that meant we couldn't get another FP til 1:35pm.

So you really have to pay attention to the time and be careful not to get a FP too early  If DH would have waited about 10 minutes then it would have all fallen into place. But we ended up skipping the safari that day.

OK, here is my question. Do my husband and I both need to get fast pass tickets in order to do baby swap or can we get one fast pass (say on my ticket ) and then use baby swap.

For example , I use my ticket for space mountain fast pass and my husband uses his for splash mountain. Can we then go to space mountain , tell them we want to baby swap and use one fast pass for the both of us. Right after the last spouse finishes riding, we go directly over to splash mountain and use my husbands 1 fast past along with baby swap to get us both on the ride. This way we do actually have 2 fast passes in our hands at the same time.

Does that make as much since to you guys as it does in my head????

I would appreciate anyone who would attemt to answer this for me.

Thanks

Steph
