We are going in December 2008 for my daughter's first trip to WDW.

Usually I'm behind the lens with anything to do with her. But for this once in a lifetime experience of walking down Main Street to the Castle, I'd like to have someone else document that.

Does anyone know of photographers in the area that offer those services?

Thanks!

I would highly recommend Randy Chapman at

http://www.chapmanphotography.com/

I am a Disney Bride and he took our wedding photos in 2003. He is phenominal. :cool1:

We loved his work that in 2004 we hired him to do family portraits at the Boardwalk resort. He charged us about $200 spent a couple of hours with us and provided us with about 200 photos including the negatives. :yay:

If you would like to see some of the work he did for us please send me a PM.

Anyone know if Disney has any photography services for this type of thing?

In 2002 when we honeymooned at WDW they sent as an offer to be followed around for 2 hours.

Also remember there are photopass people all up and down main street and they will pretty much do what ever you ask. In May they took pics of my son playing with the ducks by Casey's. I didn't know they could do that but the guy was following my son and said people don't know we can take pics of more than the castle.

I highly recommend Randy Chapman. He did our wedding and was great and reasonably priced. But if you are looking to do pictures in teh MK, you may have to hire Disney to do this as they will not let outside photographers in the MK to do photoshoots. I personally would utilize the Photopass people, you can get a Grand Floridian Photoshoot for $25 and its a 20 minute session.

Disney does have a service where they will have a photographer meet you at your location choice. I don't know how much it costs, though or if it is for portraits, candids, or what.

I know someone who just did a photoshoot at the beach and yacht club with thier family, I recall it being a few hundred dollars but I am not positive. I don't think they will do it in the Magic Kindom. The only photo package that I am aware of is the MK wedding shoot. Its only open to DFTW couples and is done before the park opens and cost $1000.

I'm having a Disney Photographer take pictures of my dbf and me(yes that's correct grammar)
It's 300 dollars for an hour. You get a leather bound photo album with the park icon on the cover and 25 pictures. I should note though that this is an "engagement" session. I don't know if they'll do anything outside of weddings and engagements.

Yes, I've found them. Disney Events has photographers that do family portraits and roaming photography.

well then I'll be sure to post a review in my trip thread when I get back! I'm thinking I'm gonna need some pens and paper to take notes when I'm there

You'll probably have to pay for an outside photographer's pass into the park. Just a thought...whereas the photopass folks are already there... and you can get as many pics as you want...and not pay a dime if you don't like them....

Just a thought or three. ;)

the outside photogs have AP's

OP have a great time with your photo shoot regardless of who you use

It's been a long time since I researched photographers for Disney. I, too, am a Disney bride (GF Marina '01). We used Gary Fox for our candid photojournalistic photos...and hated our pictures! And, he was the TOP and most expensisve photog at the time.

On the other hand, we used DPS (Disney Photographic Services -- may not be called that anymore) for our video and they were AMAZING! We kept saying we wished we could freeze frame the video and create a new album. LOL

Bottom line: I wished we had gone with Disney for everything and one thing you can be sure of...they have access to EVERYTHING.

BTW: I've also heard nothing but wonderful things about Randy Chapman.

Have a great time!!
