Want To Help Me Plan a Magical Anniversary Trip?

DW and I are WDW vets (6 times and counting -all with our two kids). Our special dream has always been to go without kids and stay at the GF. I have been doing some figuring and planning about prices etc, and MAYBE this will be my year to surprise her with a dream-come-true. We have always stayed in value resorts (+ one time at POR), so I'm guessing just arriving for a 6 nite stay at the GF is going to be breathtaking.

Some questions:
1) Our anniversary is in August. I know FL is H-O-T in August, but park hours (esp. MK) seem to be long. What is it like at night in August? I am thinking of us maybe not even hitting the parks until 6pm or so some days.

2) Should the middle of August be crowded? I am guessing some schools will be back in session by then

3) What are some special things at GF that I can arrange to surprise her? (Nothing against V&A, but it's probably not our style)

4) What kind of a special "MK moment" could I arrange for her? (Hopefully without TOO much extra expense since I will be spending a small fortune on GF)

5) Is it hard to get ADRs at San Angel for dinner? We always have talked about eating at a table right by the boat ride

6) Any other ideas or advice?

This is so much fun to dream about right now. I just hope I'm able to pull it off for my wonderful wife.

Well first off it is not that hard to get a table at San Angel Inn. ADR's can be made at 180 days in advance so your best bet is to call as early as you can to insure you get the best time frame for you plans.

Some schools will be back in session but alot will not be back until after labor day. Our favorite time to go is the week after labor day. If you didnt mind celebrating a week or two late you will reap the benefits of very low crowds!!! Some of the lowest of the year.

Would your wife be interested in having tea time.The Garden View Lounge inside the GF offers a tea time everyday ( you need an ADR) and it is really very relaxing and beautfiul. You can also pre order a white chocolate cinderella's slipper with mouse and raspberrys and a silk screen made of chocolate on the plate by calling the GF bakery ahead of time. That would be a lovely surprise. You can only order those at any of the GF's restiarants.



Also fort Wilderness, POR, and now Saratoga springs now have carriage rides. It is about 30 dollars for 30 min ride. You can rearange that by calling wdw-play.


Thr GF also has a great spa and they do a couples massage called the grand romatic evening which is out of this world. You get massges at the same time ina candle lit room... very nice.

Also if you want a really great surprise you could book a wishes fireworks cruise or an Illuminations cruise

The GF also has a private yacht that can be rented for the fireworks cruise and it is called the grand one.

The Magic Kingdom does not engagements or other special occasion packages anymore but you can contact gifts of a lifetime http://www.giftsofalifetime.com/ to arrange something special in the park.


Disney also does vow renewels at the GF wedding pavilion... if you want to drop $3,500 you can get re married at the wedding pavilion whic is just beautiful. The package includes flowers, photography , cake , champagne.

Thanks for the info!... Tell me more about the massage package. I read about it on another site, but wasn't too clear on the details.
