My mom has finalized my birthday trip to WDW....
She has offered to take myself and a friend to WDW the week of August 23-30...staying at the YC...and is paying for the whole resort stay as well as food...

I feel I owe something to my mother...and hence the topic of this thread...
I'm looking for an affordable way to "say thanks" to my mother while down there....
Like I said it must be something affordable...as we are only two job-less teens....

I'm thinking of a small gift basket...with a few snacks and a card...but I'm really looking for something memoriable...
We're not fancy...so I crossed any PS off the list....

Any help would be great...

Last year for our first ever family vacation with all the aunts, uncles, cousins, etc., I took a bunch of pictures and made a small scrapbook (about 20 /- pages) for my grandmother for Christmas. She LOVED it and still keeps it out on her coffee table in the living room so she can tell and show everybody what we did. It was relatively inexpensive (film, scrapbook, some stickers and pens) but was so special!

:earsboy: WELCOMEtothe DIS GoofItUp!!! :earsboy:

boston-yachter...I think GoofItUp had a great idea! My idea involves pictures too. :)

Joe's 3 sisters took his Mom to WDW for a mom-daugther get away for her 75th birthday this year.So for her birthday one of the gifts we gave her was a picture frame I made to put her pictures from her trip in.I got the big frame that holds 8 pictures, for around $5 at Walmart.I painted it black. Then I have about a million brochures I pick up whenever we're at WDW.I cut out different pictures of rides, pavillions at Epcot, logos the names of the parks and decoupaged (also found at Walmart or a craft store) all around the frame. On the mat I printed in Disney style writing...Lucy's 75th Birthday. You could write "Thank you Mom" or something.

So while on your trip COLLECT BROCHURES of the parks.Take 2 so you can get pictures from the front and back,Then y'all could put it together for her when you get home.

I think you have a terrific Mom taking you to WDW and staying at YC (the pool is AWESOME!) for you're birthday. And it sounds like you're Mom has a REALLY sweet daughter!

Have fun!

What about taking her to the afternoon tea at the GF. It would be fun to dress up and do a girl thing. I am not sure of the price but would expect it a lot cheaper than a nice meal.

Disnee Dad Says...........................................Build her a card, that will rip her heart out!
My DD did this to me on fathers day.

"You know that I love you and that I think you're a wonderful father. You have always put your family first and done whatever you could to give us comfort and security. But, maybe you don't know how I see you as a person.
I see you as a man of principle who stands up for what he believes in. I see you as someone who is liked and respected by many people, not only because you go out of your way to do things for others. I see you as a man I admire more than words can say>" Ya it made me cry for a second or a 1000,seconds.
Hit her hard with how wonderful she is, she will cry, it can be colored tissue, just the fact you say she is great is a lifelong dream to parents.
