Want to change my ADR time for 'Ohana

I have a 9:35pm ADR for 'Ohana on Sept 2. This all that was available and I had my heart on going there dispite some iffy reviews. The problem is the my hubby is diabetic and that is very late eating for him. I have been checking daily( or 2 or 3 times daily-crazy person here!!) What are my chances of getting this moved up a couple hours? Would calling be any better?

Just keep trying. I was able to get a 6:50 for August a couple of weeks ago. It's a little late for us, so I keep trying just in case. Also, try a larger # than you need. I found our ADR for 6, but we are a party of 5.

I've been trying to get an earlier time as well and have been trying online several times a day as well. I did call once and the CM said that we see what they see online as far as availability.

As the pp said, keep trying. There's still a chance to get an earlier ADR as people cancel all the time. Good luck.

Keep checking right up until you want to go, as well. Just out of curiosity I checked for a party of 5 on July 1st and found a 5:10 and 9:40.

Keep trying online. I just found a 6:50 for our October trip. At the 180 day mark all I found was 9:30. There is no way that my 2 boys could have made it that late. For our trip last December I was able to get a 6:00 time at 30 days out for ohana. I would also check several times a day.

If all else fails with getting an earlier ADR (and you don't want to eat the late time you have), they have a standby line at the restaurant. Just show up about 15-20 min before they open and get in line. No guarantees of course, but people cancel/don't show up all the time.

Also, availability by phone will be the same as online.

'Ohana is one of the hardest reservations to get, so quite often the first reservation people can get is late in the evening. As people keep checking back and get an earlier time, there will be cancellations so keep checking multiple times a day. The phone CMs see the same availability.

When we've been at 'Ohana there has been a walk up line, but this is for those who don't have a reservation. If you already have a res and show up a couple of hours early, the CMs usually tell you to return at your res time. If you choose to remain as a walk up (or don't tell them about your actual reservation), you can be charged $10 per person because even if you eat early you're a no show for your actual reservation.

Like everyone else mentioned, keep trying even if it means everyday. The closer you get, you will most likely have a better chance of getting an earlier time since people often cancel. Good Luck!

Is there a penalty if you book for a party of 4 and only 2 show?

I've seriously been checking several times a day and nothing but 9:50 was coming up. Until now-and I booked it right away. So... There's definitely hope! Just wanted to share my good luck. I'm sure yours will work out too.

I just kept the actual number in our party because I didn't want to risk the chance that it wouldn't work out for some reason. I'm at the 35 day mark- you've got a bit more time. It'll come up - try not to stress too much! I almost fell off my chair when I saw it - I've been trying for weeks!

Don't give up. I just changed our 6:50 to 5:20 for 8/17.
