I'm taking my Mom (she's young and hip if it helps to know that- hah!) in Sept to stay at CSR and we're doing free dining- we are so excited! Right now we're doing two signature meals (CG and AP) but I want to surprise her at some point with something special she doesn't know about until we get there.

I've considered upgrading one of our other meals to a signature too (Jiko? but we're pretty excited about boma...) or getting tickets to la nouba (although we've seen it before) but I'm not thrilled with either idea.

What would you do as a little surprise to make it more special and exciting for her? I don't want to spend more than about 200ish on the 'surprise'

Bistro De Paris in E.P.C.O.T. :thumbsup2

California Grill @ Contemporary Resort <- opens at 5:30

I would suggest Bistro. . .an awesome place to eat. . .But without your list of meals it is hard to give suggestions. There are many places that I think are awesome but are not big on a lot of the signature restaurants. . .

I would say it depends on your tastes, but I personally enjoyed Bistro de Paris!

Hey everyone- sorry! It seems like I didn't explain right. We do have 3 other ADRs- Chefs De France, Tutto Italia, and Boma- so already going there so that's great!

I didn't mean just restaurants tho- just something that would make the trip special. I wanted to take her to do the fun margarita flight, but they don't offer that anymore. Something like Wishes Dessert Party... idk just something she wouldn't be expecting- could be dinner, could be a show, could be something else. Any ideas?

A couple of things come to mind:

-Tea at the Grand Floridian (haven't been myself but have read rave reviews)
-Hoop-de-Doo Review (great fun if you have a good crowd)
-Segway tour at Epcot (been on this one twice-highly recommended)
-one of the tours at either MK or AK (the Backstage Safari is next on my list)
-take a dessert/snack tour around the World Showcase (fresh caramel corn at Germany and the napoleon from France :thumbsup2 )
-take the boat from DTD to Port Orleans French Quarter and eat some beignets

Okay, so that's more than a couple :rotfl:. Enjoy whatever you decide to do!

maybe a spa treatment
a tour that might interest her
an extra signature meal
some time at one of the lounges...my sister and i love la cava (we're probably your moms age)
wishes dessert party if she likes to snack
a monorail pub crawl
jelly rolls
pre arrange for a cake, special dessert, or glass of champagne at one of the dinners you've already planned to take time to say something meaningful to your mom
matching tshirts to wear to the parks one day...zazzle.com is fantastic for that. we've used them a ton of times. there's a huge selection of disney artwork and you can say anything you want rather than just your name. we pick a theme for our vacations each year and do shirts for our trips. very affordable and great service.

Hi,

Don't know your Mom's taste but would highly recommend the prior mentioned Grand Floridian tea as wonderful! We've done it several times and loved it! No need to plan a meal after it either. Can be very filling and allow at least a couple of hours if not three.

Also would recommend the afore mentioned spa treatment. Surprised several friends with these at both the Grand Floridian Spa and Saratoga Springs Spa (both operated by the same company...Nikki Bryant, if I have that right) and everyone has loved them.

If you could swing it financially perhaps a Wishes fireworks cruise? We've done that several years ago and it was wonderful, too.

Have a great time whatever you decide.

Auntie Peep
