Hello all, we are going to Florida in April & can only spend 2 night in Disney so I need the mono rail.

Which would you choose at regular view, Poly, GF, or CT?

And why..............

Thanks!
:D

Polynesian without a doubt! The people are friendly and it feels very relaxed. I've stayed at the GF, although it was beutiful it felt a little too reserved. Never stayed at the CT, it reminds me of a bigscraper in Manhatten ( which I see everyday at work!) I love the tropical setting at the Poly. Certainly don't have that here in New York!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

CR was wonderful, friendly, in the backyard of MK--I found Poly rather dark. It was so nice staying in the tower and being so close to the monrail. Good luck in your choice.

The major difference in those 3 resorts is the theming. You've got a futuristic look, victorian elegance and tropical paradise. I guess you should go with what you like. They are all convenient to the MK, with CR probably being a little more so because you're within walking distance.

I would choose Grand Floridian! The service is impeccable, their are two pools, lots of restaruants to choose from and rooms are decorated in light airy colors, very relaxing.
Although, I love the Poly as well.
It would be a hard choice. Choose based upon what theme you want out of your vacation...
I'm sure you'll enjoy every day of your trip no matter where you stay!!

i have stayed in the CT and the Poly. Like the previous posters, they are totaly different! the poly is like a tropical paradise it's like going home from the parks to an island resort not in WDW. It's like two trips in one.

The CT just feels like a hotel to me. I stayed in one of the wings and had a great view of the water. If you stay in the tower, you do get a different feeling, i stayed there as a kid and was blown away by the fact that the monorail went through the hotel!!! Another good thing about the CT is that it is only about a 5 minute walk to the MK which makes it really easy to run back to the room.

I hope this information helps you!

I've stayed at teh GF and the PR, and the Polynesian would win hands down, better service and lower price rooms.

I think we're going to try the CR for a night in January.

Keep in mind that unless you pay for a tower room at the CR or a main building room at the GF, you'll still have to walk to the monorail, and in some of the garden wing rooms at the CR, it's faster to just walk to the MK than to get to the monorail.

Just had to throw in my .02 cents after reading RicknWendy's post. I always find it so interesting to see what people think about the resort themes. For some reason, I always equate the CR with that old cartoon, The Jetsons and the Poly reminds me of the Brady Bunch in Hawaii episode, very 1970's. Disney does some amazing things with their rides, but they can also make you feel a certain way when you're staying at one of their resorts. Where else are you going to find that?

If you can afford the tower, go with the Contemporary. If not, try the Polynesian. I've never stayed at the Grand Floridian so I can't say on that one. But I really love the Contemporary.

For only two nights I would definitely go with the GF. There's a reason why it's called DIsney's flagship hotel - it's fantastic. BTW we always stay there and we have three small children and I have to tell you that's it's a popular misconception that it's stuffy. THe staff is very friendly and there are more kids there than you think. All of the kids activities are located there. Just my honest opinion.

I've stayed at all 3. We enjoyed each resort for their uniqueness. The one resort my family has decided that we won't go back to is the Poly. We had a lovely stay but we go to the beach a lot and the theming didn't WOW us. This is not a slam on the Poly because it is a great resort with wonderful CMs.

They boys want to go back to the CR. I think the huge arcade has something to do with that decision. Great restaurants onsite.

My daughter and I love the GF. In May, we had CMs falling all over themselves to help us. Even when we weren't asking for help. We had a delightful stay.

This Dec. we are splitting our stay between the GF and the WL. We really enjoy staying at different resorts. Some day when my children are older, we will stay at an Epcot resort.

Have fun making a decision. You can't go wrong whichever you choose.

The MK resort area is the only one wherein you have four different hotels with completely different themes. The GF, CR, and Polynesian all have their pluses and minuses. Figure out which theme best suits your family.

Thank you all for your input. I think based on price & themeing, we will choose the Poly.

Now I forget since we last went. What # do I call to request a room only reservation which I can update as the discount codes are released. I seem to recall the was one # that would allow you to apply a discount code after a reservation was made & one that did not.

Thanks again.

I always use 800-828-0228. i have used it to make ressie and apply discount later. No long distance!!!!!!!! Have fun planning!

I can't help with a resort, but I am curious as to why you NEED the monorail?? You do know you can stay at ANY Disney resort and they will provide transportation......from resort to the parks..
Just curious....maybe you have a "thing" for the monorail???:confused3

Since we only have 2 days I wanted to get the fastest transportation to the parks. Otherwise I would have gone with AK which is our favorite.

The CR is the least expensive but longest ride on the monorail to the MK. However it's the quickest to the TTC

The Poly is my fav of the three and is two stops away from the MK with the GF in the middle.

The GF is the most expensive, but it's the stop before the MK. Also the mono rail will be a little full at peak times because it has visited the CR, TTC, Poly etc. I think they may send two at a time but they fill up quick.

Hope that helps

sounds good to me....anything to get you there faster.......just wondering. have a good time!!! (say hi to mickey for me)

We really love the Poly and you can walk from Poly to TTC for direct Epcot monorail. I'm sure you'll have a blast. I used that 800# to make my reservations and again to apply an AP when they came out.
