Our first time with the kids and would like to eat dinner at the park, someplace nice with a view, and some place to remember- plus enjoyable for a 14 and 11.

Any suggestion-

Still 6 months away, I have been waiting a long time to take the kids.

Help, any ideas

do you KNOW what you're asking?? lol! This is DisneyWorld for pity's sake! EVERY place is special. :teeth:

I would absolutely & w/o hesitation suggest a character meal. While I liked virtually everything about the Crystal Palace breakfast, we had to wait for a very long time after our PS time. (Full disclosure here: I detest PS & feel very much put upon that a reliable & puntucla person like myself has to be penalized because of the jerks who cannot manage to show up on time.) I really enjoy the character meal at The Land -- the restaurant turns & you can see some of the ride, although it's not nearly as cool as Disney likes to portray it. The food is good & there's plenty of it. I understand that the character meals in the castle are pretty special, but I don't have kids so I've sort of shied away from that one.

As for other meals, I always get a kick out of the Sci-fi Diner, but it's s sit-down & what I call DE (Disney Expensive). This trip I paln to take my newbie friend there just for dessert so she can see it & enjoy it & not spend a fortune. Same deal for '50's Prime-Time Cafe -- but I really like themeatloaf & pot roast there. The atmospeher in both of these places is terrific & lots of fun.

Okay, I'll shut up & let someone else have a say! Have a terrific time.

almost all disney rest. have atheme but not alot have "views".no view but we like whispering canyon( just not the dinner skillet) and it is fun, guess the theme would be country????kind of abizzare place but we lliked it. while we weren't that impressed with OHana's service and don't care to much for all you caneats since we don't eat much I think it might be nice for afamily and has a decent view from some seats( not all) but it is $24 per adult so expensive imo but most disney dinners are. Lecellier is nice ( again no view but good food) as is chefs de france. if you mean like a castle view, there really aren't many but most are themed nicely...might skip someplace like artists point or some of the boardwalk area ones just cause they aren't quite so "kid oriented" themed and some could go over their heads.we haven't eaten in the castle for a while but it was ok food but expensive but nicely themed.

as far as ps goes, not sure what the previous poster meant since if someone is late or doesn't come, it doesn't affect anyone else since they go to the end of the "signed in' list anyway when they get there, no matter when their ps was.
