Want a PURPLE MagicBand?

I really wish they had a purple option. My one DD already has 4 pink magic bands. Her only other favorite color is purple. And I would like one too!

Nail polish works great on MBs. I have an orange one that I painted with glitter nail polish... hasn't chipped off and you can make special designs with some tape :rainbow:

Like another mentioned, paint with nail polish and you can have a great looking purple one. Nail polish and base coat

Can you paint over Mickey? Can someone post a pic of their "purple" band?

So I tried this and it looks great. But when the band bends after drying, it starts to crack. Is there a way to prevent that? I guess just don't bend it?

While you are painting it have it closed into the shape it will be when you wear. Then after it dries don't open it any wider than necessary to put it on. You'll probably get some slight cracks that would show on close inspection but nothing very visible.

Okay thanks!! I wasn't sure if I was missing a step or something but that makes sense!

Oh, and use a base coat on the band first. That seems to work the best and also use base coat to seal it, not a top coat. The top coat seems to want to crack more. If you need to redo it you can take the polish off with polish remover and not harm the band other than perhaps dull it a bit which won't matter.

Base coat, polish, base coat

Don't use top coat. Top coat is usually what makes the bands crack. With a good base coat it shouldn't crack.

Yes. I don't have a pic, but I used several coats of sparkleie polish, and a clear good base coat. Mickey was fine.

I used a plastic water bottle to hold my bands while I painted them. They never cracked. ALso, as others have pointed out, do not use a Top coat, but stick with base. I took some tips from the magic band thread and bought Sally Hansen TOP/BASE combination and it worked well. My attempts at applying tattoos were epic fails, but I am not crafty, so that explains that, but I fould some pretty tinted sparkle polishes that had stars and hearts glitter. My bands were pretty.

I've been using a top coat and glitter top coat so that could definitely be my problem lol. Thanks all for the advice, I'll try using a base coat instead now.

Lol- we just customized 2sets of bands tonight and I was whining about no purple!
My wife wanted purple but settled for pink on our upcoming trip. As for me, accessorizing means putting on a different visor each day.
