I'm renting 6/17 through 6/21 and I have a rental rate for $202 plus all the fees through National for just 5 days which comes to $273 total. I think that's high but can't get my rate down at all. I've been trying to look through mousesavers but it wont let me combine the coupon codes. The discount I have on it now is through Visa.

I also tried the Alamo site and got a ridiculously high rate, like over $600. Obviously I'm doing something wrong. I've seen a lot of people get their rates under $200 but I'm losing my mind trying to do it.

Name your own price on priceline and pickup from the airport. You should be able to get down to about $8-$10 a day for a compact/economy car moat of the time (plus taxes and fees, but they will tell you the total prior to hitting buy my rental car)

June rates have been crazy.

The lowest I was able to get my rate to is $145.00 mid to late June a few weeks ago. I was checking everyday. Now the coupon codes aren't working for my dates (Alamo and National) so I think that is the best I am going to get.

My rate is for a one way dropping off at MCO for 7 days (Sat to Sat). The same dates picking up and dropping off at MCO the rate is higher. I have been watching the rates through Car Rentals Savers.

Trust me, use name your own price on priceline. I do know what I am talking about. You can save A LOT. We have done this a few times now and it works great. The only downsides are you cannot pick the exact car model (just the class of car) or the company, but those are small prices to pay for the savings.

hot wire is another good place to try. For 8 days in July they gave me a rate of $256, the lowest from anyone.

just went to priceline and they gave me the rental for $18 day on a full size car. $144 for the rental with tax,$222 good deal for 8 day.

SOME QUESTIONS -- so you bid $10 per day, but the taxes and fees on top of that are pretty substantial (it adds almost another $10 per day). For 9 days of an economy car I bid $90, but with taxes and fees it comes to $167. Is that still considered a "good deal"?

Are there any other costs (beyond gas) that I am missing? Are there any tolls from MCO to Disney? Are there any tolls to get to MK?

I assume parking is free (for resort guests)? Is parking also free if you are eating dinner at a resort (other than your "home" resort?)

I have been thinking of taking ME to Disney and then just using cabs as I feel like it -- for $167 I figure I can get at least 11 cab rides. Anyone think that cabs are definitely the wrong way to go?

Thanks for the help!!!
