Thanks! I can't remember the brand--whatever Michael's carries! I used lots of dye, and left them sitting for the whole 24 hours. So excited--we leave for Disney on June 16th!!!

If you only want the design on the front, just sew that one side. That's what I did. You can sew through both sides, though, if you want it on front and back. I got the template off the DISign board--will see if I can find it and post it here. . .

Found it! Just right-click and save it, then print out. Here you go:

I want the mickey mouse on just one side. My biggest problem is I think there is too much white on my shirts. I have more dye and shirts to try again, but I want alot less white. How do I do that, is it more elastics, or tighter ones? Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Also, when I sew the mickey head, do I gather it really tight? And then an elastic where I tied the thread, actually I used dental floss.

Just use plenty of dye! Mine were pretty drippy when I was finished. And yes, gather the Mickey head very tightly, then bind with the rubber bands (I used about 3).

Okay, call me the deprived child here. I have NEVER done a tye-dye.... ever. I don't know how to do this. I LOVE these shirts and really want to do this for our trip in December. Actually, it'd be cool if the whole BAND would do this for our big trip (with the Wawasee Band, Syracuse, IN) in December. But if my family minus the twins in the band of course ( I wouldn't make them wear these in front of their friends) make these, it'd be NEAT! HOW DO YOU DO THIS?? Give me step by step. i"m not an idiot, just no experience of this.

All those shirts came out great! I wanted to make them for our trip last August, but I ran out of time. I did make a set of flour and water design Mickeys. The girls and I wore them. DH never wore his so I stole it.
