We are heading to the World in June and have plans for the 50's Prime Time Cafe, I have DD's 13 & 10. I want to have some fun with them there. They don't know anything about this place. How can I egg on the cast members and how can I get them to go after the others in my party? I want to have us all be put on the spot. :cool1:

Tell me about some of your escapades there.  and any secrects to get my DD's & DW. I know I can get them to get me. :teeth:

Thanks, YO

We were there 11 years ago and all I remember was I put my elbows on the table and "mom" went nuts. I am sure too if you do not eat all your veggies, you will be given a talking too.

We are going back now with our boys ages 9 & 7. Looking forward to see what they will be caught doing.

It will all depend on the waiter. Several years ago, we had one "David" who we absolutely could not get any fun out of. I remember thinking he would be better suited to work in The Haunted Mansion. Last trip, we had "Cousin Jimmy" and had a hilarious time.

It all depends on the waiter...we've tried the
elbows on the table
chew with the mouth full
have kids color on the blinds with crayons
and have yet to be badgered!

We had Uncle Tim in Feb. and he was great! We had S8, D5, M, D, SIL and Grandmother. We were sent to the bathroom to wash our hands since we did not know the color of the soap when questioned. FYI, it's blue. My SIL got put in the corner for the 3rd time being told to keep her elbows off the table., kids loved that!!! Keep politely asking for things, extra soda, straws, View Master from another table, kethcup, etc. and they seem to increase the show. My mom tattled on my SIL and got her in further trouble.

Another fun place is Whispering Canyon in WL for dinner. Very similar to 50's primetime.

When we were there in November, my uncle asked "Aunt Cindy" to "change the channel while she was up" and got a real charge out of her. Then, my DH tried to hide his uneaten mashed potatoes under the bones from his chicken. My DS6 promptly reported this to our waitress who put a heaping spoonful on my hubbie's fork and actually went under the table to try to come up on the other side to feed it to him. Priceless entertainment!

Yep, you can celebrate birthdays there, with beautiful cakes, too. I celebrated mine there a few weeks ago.

Okay...men/boys wear a hat. Our server didn't mind the ladies wearing hats. We got in trouble for elbows on the table. Ask your server for things very politely.

This last trip, my BIL came, and he's in his 40s now, in a band, long hair, real gruf, doesn't smile, tries to be/look tough all the time. Well, he doesn't eat vegetables (no allergies; just a picky eater). Our server was hysterical with him. Our entire table had to wait for him to finish his veggies. We tried everything to help him along, hiding them in a napkin, hiding them under bones...I even got yelled at for eating some of his carrots. Finally, the server came over, grabbed his fork, scooped up some carrots and told him to "Open up" and fed him a giant bite of carrots. It was unreal.

Needless to say, I don't think DBIL will be returning, but I can't wait!!!

My husband has a very dry sarcastic sense of humor. It is often hard for others to know if he is joking or not. He and our waitress had a field day with each other. It started when my husband asked "what took you so long?" when she came up. He then refused to set the table(the men must do this). My daughter tried to help and she berated him until he finally did it. he jokingly got into an argument about it being woman's work. That was a hoot. Even if you plan on eating your veggies, leave em till last so they give you a hard time. The table next to us had very little attention by the same waitress because they seemd to give off a vibe that they did not want to be bothered. Beware tattle taling often gets you in trouble. It was a lot of fun. Oh, He also commented when the food came out "Is this all you get?" She loved playing with that one. The veggie portions are actually smaller than we wanted, I guess b/c they make you eat there veggies. Try the ice cream sunday dessert. It was great.

Order a milkshake. It's served in a huge tumbler with a little (6 or 8 ounce) glass to pour into -- it's almost impossible to pour it without spilling. DH was made to wear a bib for making such a mess with his. As a bonus, the milkshakes are delicious.

:teeth:
that's me smiling, about what we haven't even done yet.
OK so -is that all
-hats
-elbows
-don't eat veggies
-ask to change channel
-order a milk shake
-dont' set table
-hide food
-don't know soap color
-chew with mouth open
-bubble gum
-color on blinds (?)

:smooth: :rolleyes1
sounds like normal when I eat, I think I may be in real trouble. :teeth:

Thanks for the comments and keep em coming.

I guess it's nice to have ideas, but the best experiences always seem to come without bait. Show that you want to play, but don't go through a checklist. It just won't induce the same magic. :clown:

When we went with both DH's and my parents, my DM had to stand in the corner for not finishing her veggies (I think DH snuck some of his string beans onto her plate) - Mom actually tried to run to the bathroom so as not to be embarassed, but our server ran after her and brought her back! She had fun though. DFIL had to wear a Little Mermaid bib for spilling something. It was their first time there and they really had fun!

:sunny:

I didn't eat my green beans (don't like them, ever!). I put my napkin on the plate over the green beans, and my waitress went berzerk, going on about my trying to hide the fact that I hadn't eaten the green beans. Prime Time is a lot of fun, and good food too!

nuttylawprofessor, don't worry it's not as thought I'm gonna checklist it off. I was just listing all the things everyone has done that they had fun with! I enjoy reading what has happened with the others. How was your experience  or are you hiding the fact you were told to stand in the corner or sent back to the bathroom to wash your hands and you just don't want to tell us? :lmao: Come on you can tell us. :) We all just wanna have some fun. Hey prof :teacher: thanks for playing with me. And just think, I didn't make any lawyer jokes. :teeth:

We were there last week and had Auntie Claire as our waitress. She is GREAT!!! :cheer2: We put our elbows on the table and didn't eat all our fruit and veggies. We didn't do this but it really bothers them to see you talking on the phone at the table, they will take it away and talk to who ever is on the other line. Hilarious. We had a great time and we will definatly ask for our Auntie again.

Have a great trip.

last year my dh was made to stand in the corner for tossing the straw wrapper at my niece- this is our only repeat every year so far-we love this place if you show you are into a good time- they will go for it- also great food- love the fried chic
