Hey There!

I just saw that Walt's is closed - not sure if it will open again in time for our honeymoon trip (we'll be there May 30 and 31st) do we think that Remy's is our next best choice for dinner? Any other suggestions?

I just checked the restaurant opening hours for May here http://disneykindofday.blogspot.ie/search/label/May+Restaurant+Opening+Hours+2016

Unfortunately, Walts is closed on those days.

My go to restaurant is Blue Lagoon which is open 11.30am to 10pm on your days

Another suggestion would be either Inventions or California Grill in Disneyland Hotel

I would not advise Chez Remy. I researched it for my most recent trip in February 2016. It has a very limited menu, basically its a steak house. I saw photos of the food in trip reports. In my opinion the food is not worth the price, far too expensive for the food range. The theming is amazing though, I saw it at the end of Ratatouille ride. If going to a steakhouse restaurant is your thing, then I would go to either Silver Spur Steakhouse in Frontierland or Steakhouse in Disney Village

I have just replied on another thread to say I disagree with Tiink about Remys. I have eaten there twice and had a good meal on both occasions. I don't think of it as a steak house - it just happens to have steak as one of the 3 options on the cheaper set menu and one of the options on the more expensive menu as eel - that to me doesn't make it a steak house.

I agree Blue Lagoon is another good option.

It depends if you want to eat in the park and whether for lunch or later in the evening.
Inventions in Disneyland hotel is a character buffet which is not always open at lunch time
California Grill - also in Disneyland Hotel is only open evenings and is the most expensive restaurant on site

Have a look at the menus for each place and see what you think appeals to you. Carrie Cat does a good job of keeping the menus up to date on the restaurant sticky at the top of the page.

Shame Walts is closed, it's a lovely restaurant.

I suppose it depends what you're looking for. I liked the atmosphere in Blue Lagoon, but not a great seafood lover and whilst there are non-sea food options, I didn't feel an urge to return.

We've eaten in Remys twice and thought the food was delicious both times. Price wise I don't think it's much difference to Walts, and the theme of the restaurant is outstanding. I'd happily pay 20e to sit in there with s cup of tea and a bag of crisps, lol!

That's what my DD said about Remys, I've not had the pleasure of eating there yet but she really enjoyed her steak and said it was well worth going there for the theming alone!

We've eaten a few times at Remy's now, and love it. It's true that the options are limited (if you go for the standard menu, you have a salad for a starter, then a choice of fish, steak or vegetarian, and choice of dessert) but the food is good. Love the steak with the chef's sauce, the salad is nice and tasty (great dressing imho) and the chocolate mousse is really good... Definitely one of our favourite restaurants! Not to mention the brilliant theming!

Otherwise Blue Lagoon is also very good, I'm hoping we can eat there in our next trip! It probably feels more romantic than Remy's (plenty of candlelight!) but check the menu in advance if you're not into more exotic dishes!

For both restaurants, definitely book in advance :)

Can't wait to try Remys - we saw it coming off the ride on our last trip but didn't eat there as we hadn't booked and didn't have the time to fit it in any other day. I've heard good things about the steak there.

I like the theming of BL but unfortunately last time we ate there DH got food poisoning!! It was definitely that as myself and DD1 had the same, DD2 had a kids meal thing and DH had something different. He was really ill - started about 6 hours or so after his meal and he vomited all night - poor thing. By the next day he was absolutely fine as it was 'out of his system'. As a result, I'm not sure I'd get him to go back lol! We did have a lovely table by the water though :rolleyes1. Luck of the draw I suppose - can happen anywhere .

If you're after an evening meal, why not try one of the restaurants in the hotels around the lake? The Yacht Club in the NPB is meant to be lovely although it is heavy on the seafood - but not limited to that. The Manhattan in NY seems to get good write ups too. Both seem good for couples.
