Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

The form says 24 hours before check in, which makes more sense
Actually Marriott says both and there is a key use of and in their posted information.

If within 24 hours of your reservation, you find a lower rate for the same hotel, room, same inclusions (e.g., breakfast), reservation dates and cancellation policy on a non-Marriott website or non-Marriott Bonvoy app (“Comparison Rate”) and it is more than 24 hours before the hotel’s standard check-in time, you may submit a Best Rate Guarantee claim.

Hmmm, sounds like they don’t really want to guarantee the lowest rate.

The walk from Swan to Boardwalk Inn is very quick, since the Swan is at the base of the bridge. I didn't mind walking to their bus at all. Basically the same as walking back to your room at a value or moderate :rotfl2:

The walk feels a lot longer at the Dolphin, especially if your room is far from the lobby. I never noticed how much shorter the walk is when staying at the Swan until I actually stayed there. I will be honest, I utilize Uber/Lyft a lot when staying at the S/D. So much quicker for them to pick up and drop off with no guard checking IDs. Could get pretty much anywhere on property for $10 other than MK obviously. I always enjoy the walk along the Boardwalk in the mornings and evenings anyways. Often grab something to go from the BW Deli as well!

I love the AK bus at the S/D though, such a close drop off and love the seating when waiting for pick up. I've stayed at the S/D maybe 5 times in the past few years...never waited more than 10 minutes for an AK bus in either direction.
Please tell me more about the AK buses! After hearing about the drop off at TTC for MK, I was afraid I would be going around the world to get to AK. That is the only park we are rope dropping and will be staying at the Swan Reserve. Would appreciate any advice that can be offered! Thanks

Has anyone ran in to issues linking your Swan/Dolphin stay to MDE lately?
It's been a few months since I've done it and in the past it's worked perfectly well
Trying to link my next stay, for the past week. and it continues to say it can't be located.
I'm positive the confirmation number and last name are correct as shown on my confirmation booking. The booking shows with Bonvoy.
In the end it's not a huge deal if it won't link, have no real reason to link it but found it odd that I can't. Didn't know if maybe something had changed
I just had to call this week to link mine. The confirmation number for the hotel and the one to link to Disney were different numbers.

AK Parking is a great spot, not with the other Disney busses but just as close maybe a tad closer. You can see the location in this post from 2021. Be sure you grab the S/D Mobile app too, it has a ton of info.

The AK bus drops off in the main parking lot area-separate from the Disney buses. If you take a look at Google maps, you can actually see an icon showing “Charter bus lot”. It’s pretty much as close as Disney buses.

My one time taking it last October, the bus driver was “challenged”. He didn’t really know where he was going and even with direction ended up confused—there are no designated bus bays, just a portion of the lot where the bus is supposed to drop off, so that may be part of it. But he also couldn’t get the bus door open once we got there. After 5 minutes of futzing around he did some manual override and open it a sliver. At which point, I slid through and got off!

At Disney, the park right there and you can't get off the bus... welp, new fear unlocked. Thanks.

Caught a price drop for early/mid Sept. Saved $170 on 5 nts. Prices had been pretty stubborn for the last few months so nice to see.
Yes September has been a slow seller. Only Sept. 8-9, and 15-16 are sold out. And these 4 dates have been sold out for quite a while at the Swan.

For the Dolphin the only sold-out dates are Sept. 8-11.

I think Florida normal seasonality is starting to return.

For a few years it seems like everybody forgot just how unpleasant Florida is in July August and September.

Generally speaking people are also starting to remember that Florida is not Aspen in Ski Season or Park City during Sundance... That's putting some much-needed downward pressure on room rates.

Hi y’all, and especially a shout out to my man Dan! We are planning a trip right after Thanksgiving and plan to stay at the swan. It has been our go to resort since the 1990s with a shout out to sideshow Bob I have searched for information on the platinum elite breakfast, but most of the info is from 2024. Can anyone walk me through how elite breakfast works and whether it is compatible with rope drop? TIA.

You receive a continental breakfast for two included, or you can upgrade to the "full" buffet which includes the hot items (eggs, omelette, bacon, etc.)

Location is Rosa Mexican in the Dolphin, Amare in Swan Reserve, can't remember which one in the Swan. It is basically identical at each location.

Not sure if it s compatible with R/D or not, as I have never ate that early.

I believe at the Swan it is Garden Grove but we found it wasn't open every day. We ended up using ours for $20 credit at Java in the Swan and it was plenty of time ahead of rope drop.
