Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

You're welcome @NC State with the transition and opening tommorow I'd guess they are still a bit behind, my gut says you won't have an issue getting in at one of the Swan restaurants. The price is often a great deal, even adding in parking and the resort fee. Though once Marriott took over things I saw a lot of the good deals going away, current situation changes all of that. Hope you have a great stay, let us know how things go!

Thank you SteveH. I found parking is $25 a day...WOW it's been a few years since we visited. I had no idea they are charging now. I changed my date to tomorrow and the restaurants are still unavailable. I have always wanted to stay here and the price seems to be pretty low compared to other deluxe resorts .
We love Il Mulino and eat there on almost every trip and never make reservations. I’m not saying you shouldn’t but in my experience it is much easier getting a walk up table at the Swan/Dolphin resorts than in the parks or official Disney resorts. I’d keep an eye out for reservations to open up when MLS clears out.

We arrive at the Sean next week and I have not been able to make any reservations at the Sean/Dolphin restaurants. I plan to try calling tomorrow when they open.

These are actually extensions of rooms that were supposed to expire in July or September of this year, but they were extended automatically to January 2021. Do you think if I call them I could get it extended into the summer of 2021?
I feel like I’ve been on the phone so much lately, I’m looking to avoid calling customer service lines as much as I can :)

It can’t hurt to call and ask I guess! And if they say no, you can always call again later and ask again nicely.

How about $11, one way, on Frontier?

Looking at that link, no $48 RT, ORD/MCO. You have the best, Nancy.
Dan, the $11.00 fare is for Discount Den members. The membership costs $59.99 for one year. Of course, checked and overhead bin bags are extra, as are advance seat selection, beverages and snacks, etc.

I have a friend who sometimes books Frontier to MCO, to visit her family members, who live in the area. Unless she is flying down there pre-Thanksgiving or Christmas, or after a Christmas visit, she never pays bag fees. She just manages to fit everything in an under seat bag (no fee) and borrows some of her sister’s clothes, if she needs to.

This is the breakdown of Frontier’s one-way ticket, ORD-MCO:

Chicago to Orlando
Flight 1155
Total fare: $10.99

$0.89 Airfare
+
$10.10 Taxes & Carrier Imposed Fees

I recently read that the other crescent lake hotels (Boardwalk, Yacht and Beach) are closed indefinitely. Should make for a less crowded crescent lake area! Unfortunately, I assume that all those restaurants are closed for the foreseeable future...

Yacht Club opens 8/24. Beach Club and Boardwalk hotel sides currently don’t have an opening date- but the DVC villas are open at Beach Club & Boardwalk. So less busy, but I will assume if Dolphin or Swan restaurants are open, people will go over there since only Trattoria al Forno is open on the Boardwalk.

Just spoke to Guest Services at the Swan to inquire what exactly will be open and available for our mid-August trip. As for restaurants, Java, Il Mulino, Kimonos, and possibly Garden Grove will be open. The Swan lap pool and the Grotto pool facility will be open, as well as the Cabana pool bar. The Friendship boats are not currently scheduled, but there will be Mears buses for Epcot and Hollywood as an alternative. Regular Disney buses will run for Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom.
