Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

So... I got the name corrected via SPG and received a new confirmation email with the correct names. I went to DME to confirm all was ok and the reservation is still linked but now it also says "We are experiencing difficulties requesting additional details about this reservation. Please try again later." When I click on details it shows my "travel party" and the correct dates for our stay. Not sure if anything is wrong or not. What other info should be there, if anything?

This isn't what you want to hear, but I would call Disney Tech Support to find out if THEY see a problem. I think that's the key.

If it's not showing correctly by the end of this week, I will. I still have a couple of weeks before I can FP+ so I'll give it a few days. Do you happen to have the number for tech support?

I think that if you book through SPG or Swan/Dolphin directly there will be no additional info on MDE. If you book through WDW at either of those resorts, the information is in their system and can be displayed. At least, that is what I have told myself! ;)

Yes you may be right but I don't want to find out differently on day 60 at midnight! I wish I had looked at it more closely before they corrected the name. It may have been like that all along...

If anyone else has a current res in MDE for Swolphin, please let me know if you have/don't have the "experiencing difficulty. .." message. TIA

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but when my reservation (booked through SPG) had that experiencing difficulty message in MDE, there was a problem. Once I finally got it cleared up (read back a few pages in this thread), that message no longer appears. My 60 days is this week so I needed it cleared up ASAP.

Oh it's a huge mess now. My linked reservation is now gone. I tried to link it again and it could not be found so I did the search. Now it comes up with 4 different reservations, none of which contain the correct number of adults/children. They've got the kids now showing up as 18+ and 6 blank "friends and family" guests that it's requiring me to match up with names. Crazy mess all because of a typo. I'll be calling tech support now...


ETA - spoke to tech support. Apparently every time SPG resent me the confirmation it generated another hit for MDE under my tel#...

there was the initial confirmation with just my name when I booked
then when I called to add the names and she only added the adults and sent me a confirmation before I could tell her I needed to add the kids too...
then she added the kids and sent another...
then I called back and had her correct the typos and she sent that too...

tech support called Dolphin and they are sending yet another confirmation and I'm to check it after 24 hours and if it doesn't pull up correctly I'm to call back. I'm not feeling the magic with all these hoops.

I've got your back. Sounds so much like the problem I had. Apparently when SPG makes the reservation and then it needs to be adapted (change dates, add kids names, etc.) it gets screwed up. They layer the reservation in a way that it can't exist for MDE. Disney Tech Support can't help you, it's very likely the Swolphin will resubmit and not see why it's a problem.

Here's what you need to do: Call Swolphins reservation number. Ask for the In-house reservation desk. Ask to speak to Lisette the manager (or leave her a voicemail if she isn't on). Tell her to please look at your reservation and tell her the spots for extra guests showing up. She can fix it.

This is obviously a persistent problem and they should get pretty good at fixing it at the Swolphin as a result now that they know it's occurring when SPG makes the reservations and they attempt to alter it even in the slightest way.

Let me know how you make out.

The "check it in 24 hours" fix that Disney IT told me to look for did not work. The reservation can now be found on the first try but all the extra guests are still showing up so I can't link it. I just left a vmail for Lisette this morning.
 
A couple of questions from someone thinking about a first-time stay at the Swan:

1) Would any discounts for the January/February time period come out soon (like the Disney resorts)?
2) If all the Swan rooms have been renovated, why are they still showing a cheaper 'Traditional' room (while the one picturing a newly renovated room is called 'Deluxe' and is more expensive)?

On 9/16, when I checked in to the Swan and asked at the front desk, I was told they were not all renovated yet.
 
I'm headed down to the Dolphin in November. We've always stayed in value resorts, so I'm super excited to try the S&D! We bought magic bands from the Disney Store and will have them linked to our DME. Here's my question.... I think I understand that you cannot charge purchases, food, etc to the room like you do on a Disney resort, but is there a way to link a credit card to you magic band, or is that the same thing?

At this time, the only way to "link" a credit card is by staying at a Disney Resort. The Magic Band itself can not hold credit card information. Maybe that's a change we'll see in the future! :goodvibes What I do for my Swan/Dolphin stays is load up on $50 & $100 Disney Gift Cards and use them for all my purchases! :thumbsup2
