Walt Disney World Railroad Rehab

 Dang it, I hope that's not right and that they didn't push it back. I was so happy it was going to be open when we went this year!

Regardless of the exact dates, it's at the least poor planning, and borderline inconsiderate for Disney to close an attraction at the exact same time three years in a row. Some people may only have that one window of opprortunity every year to travel to Disney. Doesn't seem right to do that. I can understand avoiding peak seasons, but there are other windows throughout the year where things like this could be done.

And, as someone mentioned above, what is so wrong with the railroad that it has to not only be closed, but be closed for weeks at a time for three straight years?

I cannot believe that it is down again. I am so glad that we moved our trip from October to September this year. We missed it last time and I was so sad because my boys would have loved it. If we had to miss it again I would have been sad, much sadder than I am about LTT and PoC being closed.

We are just barely going to make it. We will be there on the 27th so we hsve to make sure my DS gets to ride it.

I was scheduled to do the steam train tour on November 13 and I just received a call today that they will be doing track work that week so the tour is cancelled. The CM said tours would resume at the beginning of December.

:furious: Let's hope this will be the only disappointment of my trip. I cannot believe I moved my trip by a month and they changed it and it's still going to be closed.

I agree!! Me and my husband go the same time every year for our anniversary. I obviously know everything I want to ride or do won't be open but three years in a row is just poor planning. At least my TTA will be open! :yay:

Yes, but Disney has a history of doing that - just check out the DLR refurb schedules sometime. I haven't been on Haunted Mansion for three years because I always go during the August and January race weekends...exactly the same time that the mansion is closed for the overlay changes.

The refurb dates have shifted. The train will now be open for the beginning of October, but go further into Nov with the closure.

Any word on the new closure date? We'll be there in Oct...

I always enjoy seeing the trains - and we usually ride it about once a trip, but I definitely really enjoyed watching it even more than riding it. I actually stopped and took video of it on our last trip.

It closes on Oct 12, and is scheduled to reopen on 11/21.
