Hi!
We are going to WDW with my choir next summer and we are scheduled to sing at Disney Springs July 1.
I have nevner been in USA or WDW on July 4`th and I really want to
experience and be a part of that celebration. (We are from Norway)

BUT... How "bad" is is at WDW on July 4`th?

"Bad" is a very subjective thing. We've been to WDW around the July 4th holiday for 4 years in a row now, and probably 8 times overall. In our opinion, the only part that's "bad" is MK at night on July 3rd and 4th. Everything else really isn't bad at all. We love that time of year.

Congrats on your choir and enjoy!!!

You could post any date in the foreseeable future, and there will usually be at least one person who says to pick a different date, lol.

If it sounds like the 4th would be fun, I would book it and read the threads on here about coping with crowds and heat. We travel next week. The people on these boards have been extremely helpful (and honest) about what to expect and how to prepare. Happy planning!

Thank you... Yes, I know it will be hot and crowded... We are "used" to the hot park, because we have traveled in the summer before and last year we managed to have a flight home on July 3... DD (22) was sooo sad that we could not stay for the 4 of July celebration.

We have been to WDW both in the summer and September/oktober, this year DH and I are going for the first time in November (Christmas time)
+ we have been once in the spring.

So on my Disney Bucket list is WDW during Christmas season + 4 of July.... I really want to experience that :)
We`ll just have to beat the heat... and get A LOT OF HELP from this forum :)

Thank you :)

It's hot. It's busy. And you'll love it.

Don't over think it!!! Drink a lot of water.
Thank you, it looks like we are going to do just that... We managed the summer heat last year and we have had HEAT here in NORWAY this summer too..
(Florida weather, around 35 Celcius)

Thank you very much... I am very exited to take the kids "HOME" (Some of them have never been to WDW) and I really want to stay for the 4 of July celebrations also :)

We did MK holiday fireworks July 3 this year - booked the dessert party at Tomorrowland terrace since they only project stars on the castle and you don’t need to see it clearly. It was an excellent view of fireworks away from the crowds. They had a huge dance party in front of the castle all evening before and after fireworks. The crowd was manageable that day. We did Epcot the next day -July 4 and they do holiday fireworks after illuminations and that fireworks show was nothing short of amazing. It blew me away and honestly I would choose it over the MK one. Crowds that week were very manageable. It was hot but not overwhelmingly so. We took afternoon breaks most days to rest in ac at or hotel room. It was a very fun week

WOW... I am sooooo going to do this next year.... I LOVE the fireworks both at MK and Epcot
Fireworks here in Norway has not been the same after we started visiting WDW, not even at New Years Eve.
Better start looking for some matching 4 of July T-Shirts for our next trip :)
Thank you :)

we were there this July 4th week and while it was crowded, we got stuff done!

Better start looking for some matching 4 of July T-Shirts for our next trip :)

check out our matching shirts in the slinky dog dash pic in my signature. A person on Etsy made me the patches and I ironed them onto to T shirts. We got a lot of complements. ;);)::yes::::yes::

I was there June 30-July 6th this year and it was amazing. I also did MK fireworks the 3rd and Epcot the 4th and highly recommend it. Yes, it was crowded but not unmanageable, and I don't feel like the crowds were any worse than my Feb trip this year. Both shows were incredible and completely worth the crowds and heat. Have fun!

We were there this year during the whole week of July 1st. In comparison to the holidays, Christmas and Thanksgiving, the parks were really not that busy. The only day that was crazy was July 4th at MK.(I heard July 3rd was also packed, but we were at another park that day) The park was packed(worst I had ever seen it), and then to make it worse it started raining. Having read about the crowds for the fireworks, we booked the desert party that ropes off a section in front of the castle. I highly recommend it, as this gave us an area to escape the crowds and the rain during the party(especially nice since the weather delayed the fireworks about 30-40 minutes and we had a nice dry spot to sit down and wait)....and a nice spot to watch the fireworks without having to camp out all afternoon or deal with people jockeying for position.

To piggy back on this, we're thinking of visiting the weekend after the 4th this year, the 5-7. Any thoughts on how crowded (or over crowded) it may be those days? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
