Walmarts Internet on the go Mobile Hotspot

I had/have a version version of this and it worked great but needs recharged(plugged in) after a few hours. I have 5 gb limit and never came close on mine cvhecking email, FBing, dising. It's the movie/ music downloads that eat data quick.

Does anyone have one of these? http://www.walmart.com/ip/Internet-on-the-Go-Mobile-Hotspot-3G/20665535

I was thinking about getting it for the kids for their ipods for our summer road trip? Wonder how it works. Seems like it would be perfect for that. I'm not really sure how much of a data card I"d need to buy? I'm not real up on all this stuff so any help would be greatly appreciated.

We have this one, and I LOVE it.. there's some areas we've come across where it has trouble giving us a wifi connection, but for the most part it has no problems connecting.

DH got it for Christmas and we've used it quite a bit during car trips, couple camping trips, dd's gymnastics meets, etc, and in the last 6 months have only used up one $10 card, it then rolled over to the one month of free time it came with, and we are now about 1/2 way through another $10 card.

We don't let dd's watch movies using it, or download huge games (that would take up quite a bit of the internet time).. but they've downloaded small games, played online games, listened to music, etc. I've used it for e-mails, facebooking, basic web browsing, etc.

You can connect up to 5 devices at a time, and at times we've had 3 itouches and an ipad connected with no problems at all.

It would be perfect for what you'd be using it for (road trips).. we just keep it plugged in using a car adapter. It lasts maybe about 6-8 hrs without being plugged in.

I have one. It's fine for checking emails and using apps that need internet access to transfer small amounts of data. But the speed is only 3G, so anything more than that doesn't work well.

This is perfect. We have 3 kids so they all would be connected it to in the car on their ipods. Not for watching movies or streaming, mostly for twitter and facebook. What do I need to know about these cards? What kind of card? you say $10 how much will that give us time wise. I have no clue how much I need to buy in cards/data.

It goes by usage, not timeframe. I would say for 3 kids using it mainly for Facebook and twitter, a $10 card should give you plenty to last the week. There's 2 plans to choos from each time you add a card to it. #1 never expires but you get less gb per dollar. #2 expired after 30 days but you get twice the amount of gb use. For a vacation, I would opt for plan #2 when you add the card... $10 gives you 1.5 gb of use, which is equal to something like a couple thousand websites and several thousand e-mails or something like that. Look on their actualwebpage and it gives specifics (not Walmart, but google the hotspot company's site).
