Walmart should hand out tickets for the BF towels!

My SIL posted on her facebook page that she saw people fist fighting over the towels!

LOL! It's funny, but it's not at the same time. I hope they were at least towels made from organic cotton :lmao:

The Walmart we were in had people throwing towels to others wanting them. It was funny watching the towels fly. A couple of women had carts overflowing with towels.

At my WM the towels (and the 6.88 sheets) were gone in about 30 seconds! As soon as they dropped the rope they were pounced on and gone! CRAZY!!

This is funny because last year there was a huge riot at our WM over the towels of all things

I saw someone at Wal-Mart Thursday night with about 100 towels in her cart. What.. is she opening a hotel or something?!?!

The $2 towels at Target are actually MUCH better quality and no one was fighting over them there!

The way people in the videos are grabbing at things, they could have crapped in bags, set it on a pallet and sold out in seconds.
I bet half of the crazy people loading towels in their carts got home and thought "what the hell am I going to do with all these towels??"

I know! I was shocked at the towel competition. I got 7--6 at 10 pm, and another one found the next day, all forlorn in a basket of returns. I'm setting up a new house (gave everything to DD19 and moved to Alaska), so the towels will come in handy. That said, I'm not sure who they're normally for. They're not really "gift towels," if you know what I mean.

:scared1:
but in a very small way I'm slightly comforted that this was over something that is a "need" and not a high-priced "want" like a supersize TV or game system.

I'll spend the extra two bucks to not fight over something so trivial.

Now I feel ripped off for spending nearly a hundred dollars on 6 sets of towels (bath, hand, and wash cloth) a few years back for Christmas.

I sure don't have much money for luxuries. But two things I have learned are worth the extra money are good quality cotton towels and good quality 100% cotton sheets. No percale for me. I wait for a housewares sale at Penney's or Bed Bath & Beyond.

With 2 dogs and 4 kids we go through a lot of towels - so I kinda get the needing tons of them. But no way would I have fought through that crowd for the cheapo towels. I get them at Target all the time for $2.50 on sale. That's cheap enough for me.

I got the towels last year and they weren't that bad. Got four this year didn't really check the quality. Good enough to dry off when you have five kids. We use a lot of towels.

:scared1: We were far from the towels but I tried to go see if there was any left once we were done with the xbox. All gone but if it look anything like that there is no way I would even try to get any. I thought for the price they would be perfect for DH to take them to the gym and for the dogs.

My Kohl's $2.99 Big Ones are looking just fine right now. Best of all there was no crowd to get them!!!!!!!!
