I purchased 6 face cleansers from Walmart with $3 worth of coupons ($1 off when you bought 2). It turned out to not be a great deal, b/c I hate the cleanser! LOL!!

Anyway, can I return the 5 unopened cleansers under this scenario?

I don't have my receipt, but b/c I purchased with coupons I want to tell them that I used coupons so I don't feel like I'm "cheating" the system.

Will Walmart accept the return (for store credit of course) if I explain that I used coupons?

Sorry this is so confusing, but I was hoping someone might know how this works!

You can always return without a receipt but I've found that these stores have gotten really good about giving you the absolute lowest price they can back in credit. If the item was on sale anytime within the past, they'll use that price for a return. You may find you're getting a lot less than you expect.

First off...I applaud your honesty! I wouldn't worry about telling them about the coupons though because I'm sure Walmart will continue to process your coupons for payment back from the manufacturer so they will still get paid.

I don't know what the Walmart return policy is, but as mentioned, many stores now follow the procedure where if you don't have a receipt, they will give you the lowest price the item has sold for in the last x amount of days.

The reason for this is that there are far too many people out there who aren't like you and they buy things on sale and with coupons and then try to return them and get the full price back - essentially making money off the company. They are basically stealing. I worked in retail for many years, and hubby works in retail now, and we saw things like this all the time. It's sad really. Thank you for wanting to be honest.

It's great to be honest, but they are still going to get their money from the manufacturer. Also, you'll probably just create confusion for the associate. I'm sure s/he has no way of giving you back what the item costs less a set amount (in your case, $3).

Walmart allows you 2 or 3 returns a year without a receipt. They'll take your driver's license but won't be a problem at all. As others mentioned, they got their reimbursement, so don't worry. :)

Thanks everyone! I'm going to just make the return, and buy some different cleansers with the store credit. I'm scared they are going to look at me like I'm trying to pull a fast one, but I understand that if I tell them about the coupons I'll just confuse the heck out them!

BTW - It was the Burts Bees Orange Essense cleanser...leaves your face feeling greasier than before you washed it! LOL!!!!

I have 5 cleansers, will this count as 5 returns or just 1? Thanks!

It counts as 1 return because they do them in one transaction. It won't be a problem and yes, they will give you the lowest price they've had them for recently. Don't bother mentioning the coupons, the mfr gives WM the money no matter if they are returned or not.
I've used that cleanser, did not like it at all!
